Thread: Aurilian Plant Care

One tricky thing about it is that, although the water/nutrient level updates within seconds, the growth rate/health indication takes 3-6 hours to change. This is logical, but makes it a pita to figure out the best system.

After randomly trying a bunch of things and getting nowhere, I decided to be a little more systematic.

Start: Wilted/wilting

Set WL/NL to normal/normal, left overnight. Status: Wilted/wilting (no change)

Set WL/NL to Dry/high, left for 8 hours. Status: wilted/wilting (no change)

Set WL/NL to wet/low, waited 4.5 hours. Status: Wilted/very slow (finally a positive change!)

Left overnight, no change (still wilted/very slow)

Set WL/NL to very wet/low, left 6 hours, no change (still wilted/very slow)

Set WL/NL to drench/low, after 1 hour status changed back to wilt/wilt

Set WL/NL back to wet/low, after 5 hours the status returned to wilt/very slow

Conclusions so far: it takes hours to move the status. And it may not occur all at once when it does happen.

Once you find a setting, that setting seems to always work for that particular stage of the plant's life cycle.

My plan now is to vary the WL/NL slowly around the wet/low setting to see if i can get a better growth rate than "very slow". Notice that, in my first attempt, I slowly raised the WL, keeping the NL constant. The result went in the wrong direction. As soon as it is stabliized again, I will attempt another experiment, in another direction.

Shado, check the .tre file list on, I think, page 2 of this thread. Everything is listed in order.

You guys with nicely growing plants: what's the light situation in your house?

I started my plant with Below Normal water and Normal nutrients because of what I read here (the "dry" people at least weren't having wilted plants)

Let me explain what my days stats mean.
Lets say I have written this:

"Day2:
Health: Good
Growth Rate: Very Slow
Water Level: Changed water to Below Normal
Nutrient Level: Changed this to Low Nutrients"

This means that when I logged in and checked my plant, it was showing as Good health, Very Slow growth. I then adjusted my water and Nutrients levels to what I have written here.. ie: Below Normal, and Low nutrients. (meaning that the good health and growth rate was achieved by the PREVIOUS notation on water and nut levels). The Below Normal water and Low Nutrients showing on the plant at this time, will not give me results until the NEXT time I check the plant.

Ingrediants at start: "greens" - OQ 1000, PE 946, FL 944, DR 827
Water - 979 OQ, 292 DR

After a few hours:
Health: Good
Growth Rate: Very Slow
Water Level: Below Normal
Nutrient Level: Normal

After about 16 hrs.:
Health: Good
Growth Rate: Very Slow
Water Level: Changed water to Normal
Nutrient Level: Normal

Day2:
Health: Good
Growth Rate: Very Slow
Water Level: Changed water to Below Normal
Nutrient Level: Changed this to Low Nutrients (started to use Rori Berries - OQ 989, PE 964, FL 674, DR 973

Day3:
Health: Very good
Growth Rate: Very Slow
Water Level: Changed this to Normal
Nutrient Level: Changed this to Normal

Day4:
Health: Excellent
Growth Rate: Very Slow
Water Level: Normal
Nutrient Level: Changed this to Above Normal

Day5:
Health: Excellent
Growth Rate: Very slow
Water Level: Normal (still normal from last night.. must not have drank much). Leaving it as is
Nutrient Level: Above Normal (still from last night.) Leaving it as is.

I have a few question for those here who have already had their plant evolve once:

  1. Was your plant's Growth Rate Extraordinary and Health in Perfect Condition before the change? Is this a requirement for Evolution or just a factor in how long it will take to evolve?

  2. In general, does your plant require more nutrients/water after it evolved than before?

  3. Has anyone's plant done well with above-normal level nutrients/water in the first (Small) stage?

I'm working on a theory that the nutrient/water amount needed in each evolution phase is about the same for all plants; it seems from my plant and from what I've read here that most Small Plants do well at normal/normal and lower level water/nutrients and raising the level when the plant is small will make it wilt. Generally speaking, perhaps it's only the Water/Nutrient Ratio that radically changes from plant to plant. Anyone have any evidence that disproves this?

1. Yes, my plant went through the various conditions to Perfect, sat there for a couple days, then moved to the next cycle (medium size). I believe you have to be at the top condition for a certain amount of time before you can evolve to the next cycle.

2. I have not noticed that it needs more resources per se- but the settings definitely are not the same. It has been wilting for 2 days now, ever since it has evolved and I am experimenting with various levels trying to find a good combo. The normal/normal settings I used as a small plant no longer work for a medium plant.

3. I kept it normal/normal the entire time it was small (it droppedto below normal overnight and I would bump it back withing 24 hours)and was happy with the medium growth rates I was getting. (honestly, anything but wilting is good in my book!)

Seems to respond similarly to the same conditions if repeated, so I was easily

able to restore mine to Perfect Condition. Expecting first evolution tomorrow.

Well I got my plant.

Used
Dant Berries 983OQ, 611PE, 997F, 11DR
Naboo Water 920OQ, 474 DR.

Day1 placed plant, stats were normal, and I set the water and nutrient levels to above normal.

Day2 I noticed slow growth and the health was good, but the levels dropped to dry/below normal. I set them to moist/above normal.

Day3 plant started to wilt while maintaining the moist/above normal levels

Day4 and I tried to maintain moist/above normal, and my plant is not severely wilted and growth rate is wilting… I’m setting it to dry/normal levels. I’m reading how ya’ll seem to have great success with the plant… I was wondering if anyone else is about to kill it as well.

Which brings up another point… can it be killed?

I have also participated in filling the minds of impressionable youths with stories of the great snipe, and laughed my ass off as they proceeded to find one. Now it seems the tables have turned. Yes, I waited until no one was around and kiss, hug, dance, comfort, agree, and… quoted Monte Python. Still there has been no change with my plant.

I’m just hoping that once my plant dies I can use the pot for something cool.

Well this is just great;
Day 5 my frigin plant is “near death”… got to love that. I put the levels back to normal/normal …

I know I’m not going to be the first to get fruit, but maybe I’ll at least be the first on the forums to kill it.

Update: After remaining at

Health: Good

Growth: Very Slow

for close to 24 hours, with nutrient levelsvarying from normal to above normal and water level at normal, I decided to remove moisture and nutrients, based on what some of you have said. I took it down to

Water Level: Dry

Nutrient Level: Low

8 hours later, the plant had responded:

Health: Good

Growth: Wilting

I have now moved the water level back to normal and nutrient level back to above normal (my baseline). It SHOULD go back to very slow growth, it would seem. If it doesn't, I'm gonna panic.

Woot

Day 6 – the plant is still at near death, but there is slow growth. The levels are at normal/normal. It seems my plant did not like being moist.

Health: Perfect Condition

Growth Rate: Above Normal

Water Level: Dry

Nutrient Level: Very Low

...and then,5 seconds after I%TT Just because Darwin was an idiot, doesn't mean you can't evolve, IT DID!

Now an Aurilian Plant! (note: NOT Small Aurilian Plant)

Day10restart:

Health: Perfect Condition

Growth Rate: Normal

Water Level: Dry

Nutrient Level: Very Low

I did notice that the Growth Rate immediately dropped to normal. Please, those

with stageII plants, keep posting!
