I've completed all the other skill trees in the marksman skill. Now I just need rifle. I hate the **edit** things. Would prefer my pistol anyday but I just need the skill points. Whats the best rifle to keep me happy while grinding this skill??

Im currently grinding through Rifle III with a tusken raider rifle. Does good damage (over 200 max) but the fire rate is appalling.

you guys should get a good dl20a, and or a good laser rifle.

I have one on my server that has a speed slice that is 4.0 spd and does 41-405 dmg +59 accuracy at 64 meters.

Otherwise the dl20a is a good rifle.

The best one I've found is the Laser Rifle. It does the most damage, although it has the capacity to do little damage. I think mine is in the order of 50-350 or something. It also has armor piercing. That cert comes with Rifle II so you can use it for half your Rifle Branch.

Spraystick is worthless, at least in PvE. Haven't tried E11, which is the cert you get with Rifle IV.

Use a good laser rifle. That's your best bet.

If the mob gets up close and does melee dmg, switch to a pistol and use Warning Shot. Then switch back to the rifle if you're grinding out the Rifle XP.

The reason for switching to pistol, in case you didn't know, was because while holding a rifle (of any type) you get a 2.5x melee dmg modifer on the melee dmg *you* receive.

I used spraystick to grind level IV rifle with 1.8 reload it went fairly fast.

I found laser rifle took too long to reload at rifle III-IV.

Once into rifleman elite profession I'm sure speed increase makes laser rifle or T21 more feasible.

Im a master sharpshooter and use my T21 all the time. My freind needed a rifle for the same purpose as you, so when he got the cert i gave him my 642 max laser rife and he got all the exp he needed fast and easy

use laser for low lvl rifle, if u go into rifleman go t21

Laser rifle. I can do (at times) around 1400-1700 with headshot 2 and a laser rifle.

Lots of bad advice on this thread. T-21 has ridiculous ham cost (80) and the laser has inconsistent damage and also heavy ham (50-60). As a 3-3-4-3 rifleman I use a laser sparingly and don't even own a T-21 because I don't need to kill myself. My main guns are E-11 (40 ham) and DLT20A (20 ham), because they do good damage (use DLT for bleeds) and don't kill me before my enemy does.

I'd recommendasking a master smith to make you a E-11, get it sliced and use mind powerups and you can pretty much fire non-stop, E-11 has armor pierce 2 by the way...and excellent minimum damage.

I was using the one that looked like a CDEF rifle, did about 100-200 dam and had a very low speed. It was amazing.

Laser rifle will treat you right. I recently popped up to rifles IV and stick with my laser rifle. Hunt around for a good deal on a rifle with great stats. Don't settle. You can get LRs with 4 - 6 sec reloads. Not too keen on Jawa Ion, but E11 is not bad. Can't use T21 unless your Novice Rifleman, so don't bother with that. Otherwise, like everyone else said, use pistol for close range with warning shot, shoot, rinse, repeat.
