I have been in the game for less then 15 mins, and already 3 of my old stalkers in the game have already found where I moved to in the game. They have all showed up on my doorstep because now with /findfriend it leads them right to you if they are on the same planet I am guessing. REALLY BAD IDEA!
Suggestions
remove this feature all together because its a violation of our rights to privacy.
Give us an option to turn it off so if I dont want players to use this option it just doesnt work. Make the option under Control O just like you can make your profile searchable, make this a flag that can be turned on and off.
Your privacy is totally now because if I goto a secret location, ANYONE can find me. This also goes for jedi now, if you need to find a jedi HEY /findfriend and BOOYA there he is.
I also feel that people you dont want to deal with can always find you and there is no escape people who stalk you sexually and mentally as a dancer, you can now never get away from. Ok so I have to ban them from my house while they stand outside and yell things to me. I can only add so many people to my ignore list.
I vote remove it or make it an On and Off feature each user can turn on and off. I totally feel violated after this and I am guessing many others do as well..

You have no idea about this feature do you? They can only locate you if you also put them on your friends list. That is the ONLY way for them to locate you. Which is why it is /findFRIEND. If you don't want them to find you, take them off your friends list... simple as that.

/findfriend ONLY works if both the players involved have each other on their friends list. Just keep you FRIENDS on your friends list and there is no issue here.

Yeah, the idea is able to be "misused" to an extent where you don't want others to find you. The devs had good intentions in adding the feature. Simple solution, take them off your friend's list and it doesn't work.

It's my understanding that someone has to be on your friends list for them to use /findfriend on you. For example, if this guy named Ztalkera wants to use the /findfriend feature on me, then he has to be on my friends list. If you truly don't want people to be able to find you, then you can always take them off.
On the flip side of that, however... I like to use my friends list for more than just friends. Like, knowing what guildmates are online when. I don't necessarily like them being able to track me down. I also use it for people whom in the past I've found more than annoying. The groups and comments features of the friends list makes it great for these. However, it give each of those people a way to find me if they thought or chose to, and guessed that they may be on my friends list.
I agree with you. There needs to be a toggle option to turn it off. It would be even better if there were a toggle option to turn it off or on for each and every individual person on the friends list.

Again, this is a FRIENDS list. Not a list of people you do not like or people you find annoying. What do you care if people you do not like or get along with are online?

He's saying that it's bugged & people can use it to track anyone regardless if they are on your friends list or not. If this is truly the case then it should be changed ASAP.

Friends list or no, it's still handy for certain things...
...like as you're coming up to the acklay room, check your "friends list" to see if those certain people that have the acklay timed down to the minute and always jump in on your kill happen to be online so you know whether to bother going for it yourself.
...If you're in a guild leadership position then you pretty much have to know who's online when, but that doesn't mean you want them to know where you are either.
If I want someone to know where I am, I'm perfectly capable of sending them a coord, or more likely, they're already in my group.

I use it for friends, guildmates, people who I find annoying, and annoying PvPers. Speak for yourself.
