Hi!

Can anyone tell me the difference of having a full suit or only the 4 needed pieces?

At the moment, just helmet, chestplate boot and pants make a difference, although this is likely to change in the Combat Update

Yes items will decay slower wearing a full suit as the hit points are spread across 8 pieces and not 4. You still take the same amount of damage but as it is being "shared" by more pieces of armour each one will decay more gradually.

As I understand it 4 piece suits are only viable for PvP or low level encounters. Try taking on a bunch of angry Nightsisters in a 4 piece suit and they will armour hole you to death pretty quickly. I'm basing this on things I have read and not things I have done so would be glad if someone could confirm or deny the this

I tend to deny this, because I have yet to see a hit into an armor hole with a four piece set. Even with sever enemies spamming their attacks on me I only see reduced damage.

Tanked a GDK in the mini-suit, reduced damage.

Spanked NS in the mini-suit, reduced damage.

Taught rancors manners in the mini-suit, reduced damage.

Played fetchwithcanyon krayts in the mini-suit, reduced to krayt droppings.

The mini-suit is nice, but you have to be prepared for whatever you hunt. I was doing good against a canyon krayt until 1 spawned on top of us and an ancient came from nowhere to investigate. Lasted a total of 8 minutes before going down hard, all 3 bars spanked into the negatives, lol.

Well a GDK does almost no damage to a melee proff, and rancors are even easier, however it seems you just got lucky with the nightsisters. I went mini suit to against em before, and once in a while you will get hit with an armor hole and the combat log proves it. It is safe to say, when you are fighting the best of the best mobs without a group, wear the full suit.

I've used both mini-suit and full comp the past month. I find the mini-suit does leave holes and I take far more damage than if I use the full suit. The damage tends to be to secondaries more than primaries but what I see is that specials target the key body parts covered by the mini-suit. General combat attacks are more random in where they hit and a hit to an unarmored arm or leg will take a nice chunk off your secondaries.

I tend to use the mini-suit for low to mid level mobs where I don't fool with buffs. For higher end like Rancor, NS, and Krayts I'm in full suit.

That's not strictly true.

My experiences tell me that without gloves, your Health takes considerably more damage than with. I used to need CorSec gloves to cap speed and the re is a mrked difference with them on compared to Comp.

Also, although I never saw any additional Action damage, when not wearing armor pants, your boots take alot of damage. With my Int/Warcry camos on, I lost almost 2/3 of the condition on a brand new set of boots in one buff session taking the Geo Caves and then spending the last hour battling BlackSuns. WFair enough the kwis and BlackSuns aren't easy to TKM, but I've never suffered that much damage on similar outings when I used to wear armor pants.

WhatI've done (I'mTKM/MPistols) is load all the Pistol speed aand accuracy attachments, into 2 biceps 2 bracers and armorpants, and my primary battle dress is separate TK biceps - no bracers - and Int/Warcry pants, and I flick between outfits as I choose (thanks to Warcry and PanicShot delays). That seems to suit me, but I pretty much need to replace my boots every week or so.

The way to check to see if your armour is working is to look at your combat log.

If the hits are not immediately proceeded by how much damage was soaked up by your armour, then the whole lot of damage is going through to you.

I use the four piece suit myself and I solo'd a Gorax with it yesterday, and I'm a Pistoleer with only Novice Brawler.
