OK, I want to know if anyone here thinks they know how the dev.s are gona work the battles in space? I dont think the in-game on-land way will work, because the guns on a ship cant turn, at least the ships that have guns like the x-wing, but maybe a top cannon like in the y-wing could always target the ......um.....target. And another thing, Will there be factional dogfights? If so, will players be able to start it or will it be controlled by the dumb factional battlefeilds like now. And also, I know this is off topic, but You should acctually be able to have drinks at the cantina, not just listen to musical artists. Also, and this is on-topic, On transports, you should be able to move around in them, like a tiny map that is just on for the time you are in the ship, and dont make the flight instantanious(sp?). Also, there should be like a lock or password for the ship. Also(again), I would like to see customizable ships and guns that you can buy seperatley that you can switch in and out of the ship. OK, I think I let out all my ideas (My brains gonna be flat for the next couple of days).

Bye bye,

Lock or password for your ship? Why? The dev's'll (lol) jsut code it so only you can access the radial menu, end of problem

I was hoping they would do the space expansion like the x-wing/tie fighter series. How else could they make space combet work? I mean, turn-based combat in space just seems strange to me. Plus, those games are generally considered to be the best of all the Star Wars games (up until now ), why not use a game engine that's proved to work? I wish they would do it like that and add the ability to walk around in your ship like you would a house. Plus, be able to make/buy upgrades to your ship (i.e. Han Solo's "Special Modifications" to the Millenium Falcon). And also have the ability to take passengers, who (now that I think of it) would be able to man the gun turrets! That would be, in my opinion, the ideal way to do the space expansion.

You know what im thinking that they will make it like fisshing that u dont acctualy control the ship but there will be a radial menu and say go forward or land there or there. The same for the vehicles but i hope they wont other wise i will be a complete waste.

I think they should make it like Freelancer's multiplayer. It works, it's fun, and it's capableof handlinga whole bunch of players at once.

The PC game Freelancer, uses the mouse for dogfight combat. It actually worked really well, I was pleasantly surprised by the dynamics of it. By right-clicking you can move your ship around and the left-click fires your weapons. There is also a button to press that locks the right-click button functionso you don't have to hold it down if you don't want to.

ok mouse would suck for a large space fight...they need to make it so that you use a joystick like any other air combat game...battlefield is a kick ass game because of it if the space combat it like combat on the ground(ie: you like on the guy and it just start shooting always aimed on the guy) that would really suck i just hope that they have it so aim is manual....cause then its a fair fight and some weaponsmith with a 1 million dollar ship cant always waist some guy in space but there should be advantages like armour and # of weapons or firerate upgrades that you can install also speed

Regarding being able to serve drinks in the cantina: YOU CAN. Any artisan with some experience in the Domestic branch can make and sell drinks, even from behind the bar. I've often sold drinks at my local cantina, and while the majority of players ignore me when I shout that "the bar is open," some players get really excited to buy and drink a Jawa Beer (especially Role-Players). Tip for prospective bartenders: tell people you're giving drinks for tips. When I offered drinks for 100 credits, I got no takers. When I gave them for tips, I often got 300 for the same thing!

Freelancer was cool, but I actually preferred the control setup for Tachyon: the fringe... if you haven't played that game, it's worth it just for the Bruce Campbell voice work.. one thing I liked in that game was the way you could use inertia to keep travelling in one direction while turning your ship to face another direction... very realistic for space combat and a really cool move once you perfect it.

id prefer a mouse on this issue.. But i dont really know the physics of house the ships will handle in space.. A joystick might not be the best choice. but freelancers controls were awsome.!

Man all of these are terrific Idea's especially the Freighter/cap ship, walk around idea (Like being able to board a star destroyer ) But if you want to do space combat like a flight sim, I'd imagine lucasarts would simply use thier most up do date sim, IE: Xwing alliance, very good sim btw.
