Each week, we start a thread for you to your share game tips with fellow players. Be sure to join in and add your helpful tip.

Do you have a little known command you use all the time?

A cool place to visit?

A trick (non-exploit) to getting more out of the game? Share it here.

Aborting a Hyperspace Jump

Have you ever been in space and started a hyperspace jump, but something changed and you didn't want to make the jump anymore?

Here is a quick tip on how to abort the jump to hyperspace:

The command is /aborthyperspace

All you need to do is type the slash command in the chat window or set up a button for your toolbar.

If you want to cancel your jump to hyperspace, use this command during while the hyperspace calculations are being made and you can cancel your trip.

Keep in mind though, if you abort a hyperspace jump, there is a short cool-down period you will have to wait through before you can start the jump calculation again.

Do you have a useful tip that you want to share with your fellow Star Wars Galaxies players? E-mail it to SWGTips and if we select the tip we'll post it as the Tuesday Tip and give you the credit! Send us the character name and server you'd like us to include if we post the tip.

Check out last week's tips

Yeah, I figured this one out myself last November

Yup I found out about this when I was thinking "If I was a dev would I have called the command to abort hyperspace?" And voila, /abort worked

Tired of those smelly Wookiees being the only ones with a special emote, /wookieehug?

I know I am.

So here's a little Macro I made.

Macro Name: RodianHug

Macro's Text:

/emote gives %TT a Rodian hug.

Tips:

/emote - allows you to create custom emotes

%TT - will display the name of your current target.

So If i have BigSmellyWookiee targeted, and i run the Rodian Hug macro, the spatial message will say:

Oreet gives BigSmellyWookiee a Rodian hug.

Probably not. For folks like you who play a lot, you are experts. If you don't know the tip, you'll figure it out for sure.

My hope is that folks like you will be adding tips for newer players

The problem is, many of the newer players I come across haven't even heard of the forums. Any chance you could get a link to it on the launchpad to get them more into the forums so they can see tips like these and the many game guides we've got here?
