So the droids blow up the shield gen at the lower camp and swarm the main camp. We kill the main Commander and then we all die?

What's the trick to winning this one? Just kill everything?

Best trick is drop off your miners at the last part of the city (where the commander spawns). We never used the detonation charges, but they would be best at the end of both paths.

Most important thing is bringing aggro to your core group by Jedi with Force Run. Try to grab as many mobs as you can and bring to the AOE circle of death. When a Double Gold Elite comes, armor break it, and concentrate your attacks on it while AOEing (also bring to main group). We really lucked out because we had a cloaker with force run who just ran around and grabbed all the aggro.

You cannot spend time regening, and as a Master Defender with a 12 Force Cost saber, I had to pop a holo. We barely had the facility scratched, mainly because we were proactive with killing. You have to push forward and AOE. However, do not AOE around the mining droids and Miners because you can hurt them. In those situations, its best to have your group concentrate on one mob at a time and take them out quickly. We did have 5 Jedi and one Squad Leader in our group, so that probably helped, even though the Squad Leader died half way through.

Okay but the objective is to simply kill everything, right?

Not sure, we killed everything but the mission didnt end. We traveled to the other side of the map and the quest finished.

Yea you kill everything, you kill for awhile then you get a message saying the commander has entered the battlefield, kill everything, then after a minute or so, you get the message saying mission complete, you got the badge, ect.

That didn't answer the question.

My team consisted of 7 Jedi, and 1 CM. 5 of the 7 jedi were high in defender, if not master. I'm still not master yet, but close enough.

All of us were MLS, and we split up into 2 teams of 4, way out infront of the camps where the droids spawned.

We chased them, we didn't let them come to us.

Treat this like a Piket lair basically is all I can say. We managed to do it in about 30 minutes to complete it, and only had 1 death.

Here's the trick though, since force will be at a premium.

When people get low on force, let 1 from each team stop to heal their force, then when they have 2kish health again, they can start fighting. I was able to with 1000 health since I had synthsteak, and we had very little down time.

When the commander pops, since he likes to use ranged attacks, have one of your master defenders use dominate mind to hold his aggro, and deflect shots/keep healed with the force valor/force infuse combo.. We killed the commander in about a minute and a half, and mopped the floor with the rest of the mobs in about another 4.

Pretty easy all in all.

You know you're alive when you fight. To fight is to live, therefor I am truly alive. To sit idly by is to die, something I refuse to do. Death is a cowards release.

Never lose hope, never give up. Light shall prevail over the darkness. Death awaits those who do not follow the path of righteousness.

We just did this tonight with 6. Basically all we did was first deploy our miners back at the primary camp. Then we went up the paths and picked off platoons as they spawned, making sure to take things out in this priority. Gold Elite > Squad Leader > Assault Droids. Then we'd back up and go to the other path, picking them off. Back and forth for a while, with a periodic check up on the main camp. When the commander spawned, we all pulled back to the main camp and waited for any loose aggros to track us down. Then we advanced on the 2nd camp and pulled anything we could from the commander. When the commander's squad aggro'd us we pulled back to the primary camp once again and lured them into the field of miners. With the miners maintaining aggro and helping dish out damage, we immediatly took down the commander, then the elite guards, then see above, gold elite then squad leaders then assault droids.

Enjoy.

Ok heres my solution to the droid invasion no win scenario. Other solutions are certainly valid, but this one is mine

First mistake my group made on the first run was thinking that it was actually all that terribly important to save the bases from attack. Do realize that the ONLY objective that matters is destroying ALL the droids. And that makes a difference because if you try to defend the immediate area of any of the given bases you will end up getting overrun pretty quickly. Also you have 2 hours to win this battle so you have some time to spare. (but not too much, 2 hours to be exact.)

Pre-Invasion Setup

I found that its best to place mines to the left of the power generator base right along the path to that base. Place the troops in the lower canyon of the main base. Posistion your own group roughly on the opposite side of the power generator across the lava pools so that you end up roughly in between the 2 incoming spawn points for droids.

Invasion Begins

At this point in the invasion your main objective should be to stay alive whlie taking on as many incoming hks as your group can comfortably handle. I mainly try attacking the incoming troops near the main base, and I tend to only go after the troops coming from the other side if were just a little too bored near the main base. At all times you want to more or less hug the middle and drag incoming hk's into that middle point between they're spawns at the edge of the lava pools. If you stay close enough to that center most of the incoming hk's should walk past you, andallow your group leader to choose your targetsinstead of your targets choosing you.You may have to swerve a little bit now and then to avoid them as they vary they're paths slightly incoming. Its important all thru this that your group members stick by your side as close as possible.

Under Siege

At some pointyou will recieve a message to the effect of "the commander has entered the battlefield" and shortly after the incoming hk's will cease. If you've done well to this point you will have destroyed the majority of hk's near the main base and will have a blob of hks on the left side of the power generator over the mines you placed previously. Go ahead and blow up the mines and see what kind of damage you can get on them. After the fun with that is over send either a tank in, or have a rifleman draw agro from the rear of the group into your group. Be carefull of course to not pull more than a few bad guys at a time. Keep in mind you do have 2 hours so no need to rush too fast. That just cost lives.

This outlines the majority of how you will procede from here on out. Simply agro the hk's from behind a few at a time until you've killed them all.

Field Commander

After you've pulled enough hks off the army at some point the commander will become a relatively open target. You have to be good and ready to take him on however as while your fighting him he will spawn additional droid reinforcements around him. Ignore any reinforcements he spawns and concentrate all your firepower on him until hes destroyed, then destroy any remaining units. It becomes pretty easy going after the commander is out of the picture. Simply destroy theremaining droids for the win.

Final Tips

- If you have only 1 rezzer available to your group, his best bet in life is to not get anywhere near the fighting and try to stay as non-combative and alive as possible. The loss of 1 extra rifle will not make any sizeable difference to your campain, but if your whole group dies, an alive andhealthy doctor/cm becomes vital.

- Don't stress too much about the placement of mines or npc troops. Although good placement of both is certainly helpfull neither is any sort of requirement. You can accomplish this mission without mines or troops at all.

- Don't become attached to any one piece of ground, be ready to run for the hills if need be and run quickly. Trying to pull a few hk's off the rear can sometimes quickly become 10 - 15hk's, and a slow retreat will only lead to lives lost.

best trick my team has found to do in about 15 minutes is to take out the small camp completely yourself, this makes more shift leaders spawn at the large camp, and you can set up a veritable army, which can kill the commander in about 15 seconds. All you do is sit back, and kill the ones that slip past to the camp to keep it alive.

Seems like a dumb idea, but believe me it works.

We managed to do most of it with two people. Our group died and they took the shield Generator, there was only me and another Jedi - Adalie left. We fell back to the main camp and just AB and KD the droids for the miners to kill, we did it with Two people.

How ever, the first time we did it, we pressed higher up the map and killed them all as soon as they spawned, and then fell back when the commander spawned. We lost a couple of people but It wasnt too difficult.
