1) AP means armor piercing (for guns). AR means armor rating. (for armor). The ranks are 0-3, or None-Light-Medium-Heavy. Higher is better. Check out the "advanced guide" on armor, it's nearly correct on most things:

AOE means "area of effect" or basically an attack that can hit multiple targets. For pistoleers, the only working aoe attack right now is fanshot.

2) You can put +pistol speed enhancers on socketed clothes from a tailor. Just drag and drop. You can only use one attachment for the same modifier on any given piece of clothing. Each +1 of pistol speed makes you 1% faster. It's not a big deal at master, but useful at lower levels.

3) Rep blasters do more damage per hit than an FWG, AND they have the advantage of being AP1. But the prenerf FWG is faster, more accurate at close range, has a lower HAM cost, and does heat damage.

You should have both in your arsenal.

1.) AP1 means Armor Piecing 1, meaning you can do a "decent" amount of damage to something with light armor, compared to the damage reduction with a gun or AP0 on an AP1 creature. "AE?" No clue sorry.

2.) Doesn't matter how many. The more the better I guess.

3.) Depends. They have AP1, have a little better damage, but are much slower. There still a little bugged though. Just personal preference.

I would like to know if dodge works when not using a pistol, is it stackable and what pistoleer speacials are still bugged.

  1. Everybody and everything has a minimal innate chance to Dodge, Pistoleers and Fencers just do it more often.

  2. You will not get any benefit from our Dodge bonuses unless you have either a Pistol or aFencer weapon(1H sword) equipped.

  3. Fencer and Pistoleer dodge stacks, but caps at 125. This will change to a "soft cap" in the combat balance, meaning stacked defenses will have diminishing returns.

  4. Our specials are outlined in the "Status of Pistoleer Specials" thread stickied at the top.

  5. There is no need to raise your font size or hit the "Submit Post" button 3 times, but we appreciate your enthusiasm.

The dodge can be stacked, it seems to works with any weapon that is carried in 1 hand (unarmed, pistols, and fencing arms). As far as specials being bugged... thats about all of them. Body hit 3 is about identical to health hit 2 except it takes much longer to aquire, melee defence 1 works fine but melee defence special 2 is little more than melee 1 without the KD. Stopping shot is kinda nice as is double tap in PvP so you can hit some1 in the head from time to time. Fan Shot is supposed to be very nice but can get you in trouble do to area attack. At 3/1/3/3 pistoleer the only thing different from being novice is minor accuracy boost, more dodge (which i really cant tell the difference, it seems to dodge less the highers i go for some reason), and minor speed improvement. You will probably till be grinding with a DH17 or Scoutblaster because your not quite fast enough to make proper use of the Republic Blaster or Geonosian. In other words expect grinding to have the same fill as Novice with less misses and a bit of speed because the specials for the most part are underpowered or broken. Once master arrives things should be much better with the big speed improvement.

Go to the pistoleer forums.

I'm my opinion, a speed sliced FWG5 or Modified Republic Blaster is best.

depends on what you are shooting and what the resist / armor on it is.
a repub blaster (ap1, energy) is good for most things, otherwise a dx2 (ap1, acid) is a good choice. the fwg has nice damage (ap0, heat) but it has no armor piecing. the lack of ap (and broken specials) is why i dropped master pistoleer for master rifle.
