Thread: Shuttle loading times are ridiculous

How much RAM do you have? I had 512mb and I had the same problems. I upgraded to 1gb and it cut load times down a ton.

Ditto for me. I had 512mb on my old machine and got a new one with 2.5 gb this week. The difference in load times is staggering.

Yes, I have 512.. I'm tacking on an extra 2 gigs in a few months but until then I'll go the bathroom and/or have dinner while I jump planets

Hey, just came back after a while with a new computer. The game runs fine, but for some reason the shuttle loading screens are LONG. It takes me a few seconds to actually load the game, but the shuttle screens average a good 5 minutes. Is there an option to fix this or what..

Yeah I have the same problem except I get botted back to the char select screen. I only have 255RAM

Did lots of testing on this 512=1gig 500% to 800% faster 1Gig to 2 gig 100% to 300% faster I load in 2 to 3 sec's. I never get load killed I see them befour thay see me I have tested it with friends its great in Pvp

When I started this game, I had 128mb RAM Loading times were LONG, and before we were required to start in mos eisely.. I started in theed, just because I recoginized the city. HOLY CRAP, I lagged out completely there. Ever 2 minutes I'd move alittle, until I could eventually make it out of city borders. In the wilderness, it ran fine. Just in cities it was bad.
That was when I upgraded to 512, its a world of difference. I just can't wait until I get another 2gigs

turn off preload in the swgconfig file "in your install directory!"

disable file caching in launchpad options. it makes a hell of a difference

I used to load in 2 to 3 seconds, with 2 gig ram...now it's up to like, 30 seconds
