It's "Owned" but with a "P" so it's 1337.

It came from Warcraft 3, the computer was supposed to say you got owned, but a misspelling made it pwned

lol It started way before wc3, like others have said it's leet speak, just a common typo made popular. Blizzard are famous for their sence of humor.
