Thread: I've done the math and figured out how long it should take you to get a jedi for the average gam

i've crunched and recrunched the numbers based on whats on test center right now and the total number of combat xp needed to get all the 24 skills for a jedi is... 22,350,000. now i'm a master swordsman master doc and today i spent all my combat xp and went to a town with 4 rebel base(with the permission of the owners of the bases) and faction grindided to the cap at 300,000 in about 2 hours. Now theorticly if you played one buff session a day every week you would make 2,100,000 combat xp a week, theoreticaly taking 11 weeks or 3.5 months to gather all the necessary xp and thats at the bare minimum. Now still this is less than the time the village takes to go through a full cycle is 12 weeks and you can only unlock 1 branch per pahse so it would take 18 weeks or 4.5 months to go through and unlock all the missions. so all in all the devs did this right and need to be congratulated for implementing a new system to get a jedi that is in the same realtive timeframe of the old system, is possible to do for the average gamer, and that should be widely accepted as the one of the main things that is saving this game. GODD WORK DEVS!!!!!

Static gating = Bye bye I'm off to play Lineage II. I've been here a year, I'll grind the XP but I'm not sitting around for another $150 in subscription fees (2 accounts) just because they want a timer. Give vets 1 branch unlock for 2 months of subscription.

I disagree with your statement. If you hologround you will get the credit you deserve. But not all players were hologrinders, I wouls say maybe half of people actively did that. This is SWG and being a Jedi should be tough. When the game launched the devs said it would take hardcore gamers 6 months to 1 year to become a jedi, and casual gamers may take much longer. I have no problem with a system that takes 2 years to become a jedi.
Why is everyone so concerned with speed. Yes being a jedi will be nice when it happens. This game is not KOTOR and it should take a hellishly long time to get to jedi.

Your numbers are way off, but the end result seems about right.
Each branch requires 1,225,000 Jedi XP. Six branches equates to 7,350,000.
Based on the 30:1 conversion ratio for weapons xp, and 3:1 conversion for combat xp, you'd need to acquire 110,250,000 weapons xp and 11,025,000 combat xp (which you can get simultaneously, so we'll drop the combat xp from the analysis)
Most combat masters can average about 500K xp/hour, which means you need to grind for about 220 hours to get all this xp
Figure 3 hours per buff session, and we're talking about 73 buff session, or 10 weeks at 1 per day.
BUT: I would say that the average gamer does not grind xp for 3 hours a day.....so the "average gamer"will probably take a lot longer.

I calculated that it would take 37 days if you traded in both 300,000 combat exp and 3,000,000 weapons exp every day for 6 branches. This is not including the quests you have to do.

Great Job Guys with the numbers-
But-
There's still the 12 week cycle to deal with-
Now, assume that you "cap" out xp between cycles-
Wouldn't this further delay the time?
