The ability to landscape the environment. If you have some unsightly hills or holes, you should be able to level them & place walls, or roads, or walkways, or trees, or createa lake, etc. Anything would be an improvement than simply clustering some buildings together in a field of grass or dirt.

And as the other poster said, greatly increasing the amount of storage available in each house would reduce all the clutter from houses being put everywhere for storage.

I know this one won't be popular, but frankly they're near worthless as a "city" at present IMO, certainly not what I or anyone from beta was hoping for:

  • giving the highest cities' starports and REMOVE them from the NPCities (actually make them hubs, rather than guild meeting places, badge hunter stop-overs, and POI hunter walk-thru's).

  • <flame jacket on> make anyone without merchant and a tent HAVE to place a house in a player city.

I think that would be a good start on actually making them what the namesake implies.

Many of the posted ideas are good. Probably the best thing would be the automatic inclusion of pavement between each building placed within the city limits. This pavement would "fill in" any ditches, depressions, etc. out to a certain distence from the building.

This would certainly make a player city feel much more like a "Metropolis", "Large City", etc. instead of a gaggle of buildings clutered together in the wilderness.

I agree, roads has to be no 1 on my list but would it alone get people back into cities? probably not but NPC raids by opposing factions would, as long as people knew when the attack was coming it could work. These attacks would have to be done with overwhelming force of course

more buildings besides the same general ones, it really ruins the star wars feeling when every building is the same, nothing is different.

Raise the item limits on houses, people buy 2-4 houses just to hold their crap, and this leads to ghost towns.

We also need the ability to ban AND attack people who we do not want in our town, simple as that, we need options to get annoying people out of our towns.

I'd say all the above, but ESPECIALLY the starport option. That's part of the problem with player towns now. Other than a few vendors, or to head to your house(s) to store stuff, there's really no reason to hang around in player cities. Maybe the option to add casinos, and stuff.

i agree with shark

give us a REASON to be at player towns, as it is now, just dump off your crap, say hi to your crafters stuck at home and head back out to the action

Roads between each city (say bigger than an outpost) would also help quite a bit. I would imagine the city would have have some kind of "history" for this to happen, like being established in the same loction for more than two months or something like that. (The major NPC cities should have permenent roads between them already on "civilized" worlds like Corellia, etc). This would make travel between each city much easier, hence increasing traffic and revenue.

Besides, Ikinda like the idea of following a road I come across in the wilderness and following it to see where it will take me...

I for one would like to be able to decorate the area outside my house, have items that can be placed on the porch area like a light or something.

I'd have to go with the Pavements etc. Things that would make the cities look more polished. Maybe one day eh? If we can draw there attention from JTL
