Thread: The Sun! Where is it!

Maybe its just the times that I play, but it seems that on many planets its dark a lot of the time. Dathomir for instance is beautiful when it gets light(I've never actually seen the sun there, and it only gets light for maybe 2 minutes). Anyway, is this just me? Or is it dark a lot!

Oh man I was wondering if it was just me! It's terribly dark, it's confusing and hard to navigate. I tried turning my brightness and contrast up to compensate, but I realized it was indeed just the way they made the planets lighting scheme. I can handle dark planets, more atmospheric (like the northern outpost lights, nice!) but it makes running around a lot less interesting when all you see is black and darker black..

Try Turning up your gamma or something. My Friend has night as basically day with a dark sky, it looks very cool and i've been trying to figure out how he does it, but just try turning up gamma or brightness in options.

Not ment to insult, but are you using your personal light when it gets dark? Ctrl + L turns it on, I believe. I've never had to use it myself.

Actualy buddy, not to get technical but there is only one "Sun" Hence The Sun. also there is only one Solar System Being only one Sol (The Sun) but there are Star Systems and Your central Star(s) for light on any given planet. as for where they are... ive seen them on just about every plannet. Dothamire might be on a crazy orbit like the Twi'Leki planet that keep the Star from coming out.

No there can be more than one sun, Tatooine has 2 of them. Although i have noticed for a planet with 2 suns, the night seems to last twice as long as day.

What I've noticed about Tatooine is that it seems they are overdoing the sand storms, we seem to get one about every 15-20 minutes.

What ever happended to the moon? Or stars for heaven forbid!

All i see is complete and utter blackness, yet i can walk outside my house at night and, wow, imagine that, even if it IS pitch black within 4 minutes my eyes are adjusted and i can see no problem.

No, you missunderstand me friend Sun is a proper Name. IE there can be only one "The White House" there are many other national Capital buildings "The White House" is a Signular entity you cant go to france and say take me to your "The White House". "The Sun" is the Name of our orbital Star. yes plannets can orbit twin stars but they are not "Sun"'s they are what ever the Tatoinees have named them. as i dbout they named them both Sun and as i dbout all races on all plannets just happend to name there Stars Sun (which i am very sure they havent Given the movies and EU not using that name). They are very carfull to say Starsystem Ect.

So as you see im not say you cant have to stars to orbit im saying there not named "Sun" (you can also tell that Sun requires the Capital S of a name while star does not)

Well really if you read the books, Dathomir is supposed to be kinda on the dark and creepy side. and pretty much covered in forests and such.

On a side note, there is only one star that we know of called the Sun. It is in our own soler system. While I would have to reread the book I am pretty sure that most of the planets primary are not called the Sun.

Nope, a moon is a moon. Scientists always refer to Jupiter's moons, not jupiters satellites. It is also perfectly plausible to call any star a sun, as it is now accepted terminology. Although every photocopying machine is not from Xerox, a general accepted term is to call them all Xeroxers. Stop correcting people without adding anything to the original discussion. All it does is make them want to correct you, like I'm doing.

As for dark and light, it seems that the planets I'm on are dark and light the same amount of time. I've never had a chance to visit Dathomir, but I'll check it out today.

sand storms are not so bad but the long nights on a planet that is part of a binary star system is just stupid
