Thread: Phase 4: Range Speed Quest Broken

Phase 4, I chose Ranged Speed to start my quest from the Captain. I killed all the pirates and outlaws. In the quest journal, there are checked boxes next to the quest. In the spatial chat tabs, it documents that the tasks were completed as well. There is no "completed quest" text at the end, like the other force sensative quests show.
I talk to the Captain, and he just says "great job, get some rest....". Pameos doesn't indicate that this is a skill I can learn.
No quest completed, noreward, no unlock.
Anyone else in this same situation?

rofl.
it's not actually funny for you, but i have to laugh because hundreds of people have had a similar problem with this phase for many cycles now. 2 phase 4's ago, they actually had csr's at the village unlocking the quest for people. last time around (despite a hotfixfor the previous phase 4) the bug resurfaced again.
Now, this quest received a fix again in 1 of the last 2 publishes (can't remeber exactly), and it possibly still doesn't work.
unbelievable.

This only effects the ranged speed side of the Cpt. quest right? The melee defense is workin fine?

I thought I had a simlar problem but then I went and talked to Noldan and asked him what skills I have opened. He listed Ranged and Melee..I had unlocked and had gotten the Novice box for Melee filled a long time ago and then realized I need to pay Noldan 50k FS XP to open/fill the Novice Ranged box before it will show in skills sheet.
If this isn't your issue, my apologies for misreading the thread...hope this helps otherwise.

Ok i will explain this one to you. Since everybody says they are having the same problem. You seen one side of the thing say completed. Pirates or outlaws. Gives you a completed for both. Until both are completed the quest will remain as is in your like when you first recieved it. You either need to kill more pirates or outlaws, there is no active count in the journal, there are two messages one for each complete. You seen one not the other. Kill some more and get over it. IT IS NOT BUGGED>

Also credit for most kills are not added if you are not the very first person to hit the guy. Some people have an ultra fast sliced gun with no power that steals the first hit so when you kill it they get credit. It is not bugged i have done it and many many many many other people have but the same problem always arrives you only see the one complete message and stop there you need two complete messages and the quest will disapear in your journal.

I did this quest last night on Chilastra. It is unique in that the message saying "You have unlocked the Ranged Speed Branch" comes when you kill your last Pirate or Outlaw, not when you talk to the Cap'n. Because there are so many other system messages flashing on the screen during the free-for-all, it's easy to miss. I just happened to catch it. If the Cap'n tells you he appreciates all your help and advises you get some rest, you're unlocked.

- All the Outlaws and Pirates were killed (50 + 25) and I killed many more to help the people in my group.
- The quest results as being completed in the journal. It has a checkmark in front and only shows if I click on “Include Complete Quests”
- The quest journal displays: Village Assault! (unlock combat Prowess: Ranged Weapon Speed).
- Both “Defend the villagers against Mellichae Sith Outlaws and Pirates” have a checkmark in front as if they were completed.
- The first thing the captain said was: “great job, get some rest....". and he will keep saying thisanytime I speak to him
- Paemos mentions the 5 skills I previously unlocked but not Ranged Speed
- I have 3 quests unlocked in reflexes and 2 in combat prowess and 1.3 mil combat prowess xp banked to train ranged speed.
- I never did the phase4 melee defense quest
- Noldan won’t train me in ranged speed as if I didn’t unlock the quest

I killed all Pirates and Outlaws required and more, Quest log updated to sya unlocked Range. But got the Capt message about R&R and could not train.

I have a similiar problem i completed range speed and rejoiced yes im gona get jedi i go to noldan you cant train da dee da dee da i look at quest journal it says completed ok what is the problem i count the quests their is only 5 i had accepted capture comander to help a friend with it and we didnt get it done so i failed it when phase changed,this deleted my credit for finishing it last phase 3 in my quest journal. i still have its branch done in fs paemos says melee acc is unlocked but NOT ranged speed i hope they fix this soon.
