Thread: When will the slooow minded devs get around to fixing the Glowie process?
Not to sound stupid, but how do you go from nothing to glowy in 2 hours?
Granted, I have limited time to play and 3 kids to keep track of, but I'm not THAT slow.
It took me maybe 2 hours to travel around and get all the POI's
It took me like 3 play sessions (about 2 hours each) to complete all the insipid Jaba quests.
It took me that much again to complete all the rebel themepark quests.
Just the traveling alone made the Nym quests take about 2 hours to complete.
With friends we managed to bang out the warren in about an hour.
So added up it took me about 17 of game time to get glowy.
Even with no distraction, I don't see how it could be done in less than 12 hours at best.

I'm sure you're a great guy. But OMG....I can't believe you can glow in like 17 hours now. That is a shame. I know people who ground characters for months to try to unlock, now it's just 17 hours away? Seems really bizarre.
I've played the game for over 2 years now, and when I decided to go for the glow I was at "a faint sense of the Force". I was short on my content bages, and had to do Nym, Imp TP and the Warren. I was quite intent on getting done, yet I know for a fact it took me well over 2 hours just to do that one portion of what I need.

With new requirements it can be done pretty fast. not two hours but alot less than seventeen.
As i did yesterday on my third FS toon. Complete the mos eisley mayor quests. I could have probably taken a short cut in it but i didthem all.
Marksman kill a buncha tusken zealots (cl 1) three missions takes roughly 15 minutes to complete.
Entertainer. This one takes a little time. Dance in three locations mos espa/bestine/anchorhead for 5 mins then talk to slated npcto retrieve information from them. Then go to a party in mos eisly and dance for ten minutes to overhear information.
Scout.Details kinda shady on this but it was i believe kill 5 womp rats skin for hide. Kill 10 kreetles skin for meat. Craft 3darts. Kill 3 rills usingtraps to aid you. Craft a camp kit.
Brawler. Go to lucky despot and help a client with a meeting. Low cl thug arrives kill him. Next escort client through mos eisley to the starport. A few low cl thugs spawn for you to kill. Next escort a client 30 metersto a harvester and protect them from tusken raiders (low cl aswell)for a few minutes then escort himanother 30 meters to safety.
Artisan. Craft one of each type of survey device then talk to the guy again tellhim you did it he pays you and if you ask nicely he tells youinfo crucial to the plotline.
Talk to the mayor after eachset is completed. I recieved 3 badges in all for the missions and the key to the city badge.4 content badges in all and took less than 2 hours.
Fly the loop of close poi'son tatooine. Lars homestead, Escape pod, krayt skeleton, Sarlac pit, Ben kenobi's house. Fly to theed. Get thewaterfall badge for theed. shuttle to bela vistal and get that waterfall badge. shuttle toamidalas retreat and gether private beach badge. Then do the jedi temple ruins on dant and exar'kun on yavin.
Go to lok do nyms theme park.
Minus the master profession badge which i had 6 at the time. It only took me roughly 5 hours from faint (prof badge gives that) to glowy.
Now i do agree to a point that its way to easy to get glowy. So easy infact that new players may get a little shell shocked when they get glowy get romped by the sith and if they make it see how much of a grind the village is.
But the title of the thread implies that the devs 1. Do not know its this easy 2. That they didnt do this on purpose.
It seems like marketing to me. Make the entrance to the force very easy so as to make people believe they can obtain jedi at a decent pace. The problem is that the village completely trumps this idea. Anybody excited about how fast they got glowy from begining will prolly %&*% a brick when they figure out how long the village takes.
Like i said beforethe method i used was for my third FS toon. For the other two i used more real content badges since the mos eisley quest didnt untill recently grant all 4 badges. So all in all i actually did Nyms 3 times jabbas twice Imp theme park and warren once. Those added alot of time onto my other chars glowy status.
And as ive noticed with MMO's as time goes by things only get easier. When the die hards start to leave and its revolved more around getting new players in the methods to become great get shorter and shorter. I wouldnt doubt if some day jedi could be obtained in less than 3 months from the day you open your account.
SOMETHING HAS TO BE DONE!
THAT IS THE TRUTH WETHER SOME PEOPLE WANT TO ADMIT IT OR NOT!
No one is denying that somthing needs to be done.
I certainly agree, I was just wondering where your numbers came from.
Hmmmmmmmmmmmmm. This is a hard question. Because this is a MASSIVELY MULTIPLAYER game where other people's actions have an impact on the world you're playing in? Maybe?

Just curious about something. Why do you care what someone else does in the game?

He will be spending his time grinding and missing 90% of the game's content then after a few months or weeks he gets bored but since he only knows and wants to be Jedi he just quits. Something needs to be done.
It's not the game's fault that a player doesnt want to explore the galaxy.
If the player ONLY wants to become a jedi, making the Getting glowie part harder will only make him quit even sooner.
all imho o/c.
Thats what I was thinkin too. If someone really want to be a jedi right as they sign up then they're going to grind it out as fast as they can regardless of the current glowie system.
If...
Easy glowie ---> difficult village ---> frustration ---> quit
than...
Difficult glowie ---> frustration ---> quit
Basically, if a person who gets frustrated with one part of the jedi process quits why wouldn't they also get frustrated and quit if it was simply a different aspect of the jedi process that was giving them problems.
