The combat xp conversion rate changed and itsnot changing back any time soon, if ever. At this point its better to just work around the problem than spend your game time complaining about it on the forums.
Solution: Within 1000-2000 meters of the village there arelotsof lvl 70-80 mobs. These mobs give you great xp and a place were you can just run back to the village at a moments notice, dump your xp, and get back out there.
The Strategy: Most of these mobs agro. To get around this get a Scout / Ranger in your group. Stand at a distance and let the Scout or Ranger throw a trap at the critter. The trap willpull one critter from the group without agroing the whole spawn. Let the Scout / Ranger pull the one critter to the group then when it gets close, open up on it with full force. Repeat this prosess as often as nessisary to grind the xp you need.
ForPowerGrinding: have the Scout / Ranger pull the critter, hit it once with the weapon hes grinding, then pull the next one while thegroup finishes off the critter.
I had a group max out in 30min doing this and severalplayers managed tostart and finish a whole branch in one day (about 12hrs). We didn't have any deaths, every player knew ther place in the group and they did there job. As a result we had a great grind and pulled a lot of xp really fast.
Tip #1 : Grouping is the Easy button. Stay together, heal the ones takeing damage, kill the critter, and move on.
Tip #2 : Pull the mob toward the Melee players. This keeps the group together andprevents deaths. As soon as one player goes down the likely hood of another player getting killed goes way up.
Tip #3 : Ranged profs shouldkeep there distance and cover the melee players. This increases the ease of dropping large game and helps prevent deaths. Also make sure to use your root and snare shots the keep it from retreating once the melee players start in on it.
Tip#4 : Docs and Combat medics are an extreamly valubal part of any grind group. Even a guy with Bacta Spray can heal the group very well. The best way to use medics is to deploy them closest to the the people takeing the most damage. This way they can get "Uber xp" and cut down the likelyhood that someone will die.
If you are a doc or a CM, dump your creds into Mind/Action enhancing food, drinks and spice. This will make your grind go a lot smoother.
P.S.
These tips work on any planet against any critters. Good Hunting.

Tip #4. EVERYBODY quits game, for a month or a bit longer, then SOE reverts the conversion rate back to 3:1, and makes grenade XP heavy weapon XP. Then when you come back you'll be able to grind through FS a lot quicker, still complete the FS grind within the same time frame, but will involve a lot less head banging!

This actually sounds like a good strategy, I might want to try this, but sadly, it is so hard to get a group by the village on my galaxy. I would love to try this because it's probably one of the smartest things someone has posted on these boards

You can sit here and cry and moan or you cut your grind time in half. The choice is yours, I just posted the best way to do it.

Thanks for the positive feed back.
The best thing about this strategy is it lets you grind massive ammounts of xp and trade it in in a lot less time, and the Dev's dont have to do a darn thing. Its by no means a perfect solution but it really cuts down on the grind time. I find the best way to get a group togetheris to have guys Gmail there friends, /tell your guildies, and have guys advertise at the dant MO. The FS community really needs to come together to make this really work. I'm headed to the village here in20min.Anyone on Wanderhome is always welcome to grind with me. Just shoot me a /tell

This is an outstanding post. I had thought about this awhile back, too. But had always met with opposition because people are scared of the mobs on Dath for some reason. Saying they are too hard. Pffft.

Dunno about post-CU. Pre-CU, when I was TKM/MD, I wouldgrind unarmed for FSsimply by walking to the village from the Science Outpost. By the time I got there, I had capped hehe.

That is good stuff. Another thing to remember is to make sure as ranged you don't root or snare the mobs before they get to the melee players. If you do they have to constantly move. Let them come to the melee line and let the melee players apply their knockdowns or whatever THEN apply snares or roots to keep them from escaping from the front line.
