Just want to dispel the rumors here. I got glowy 2 days ago. Ever since then, I've tried all of the techniques.

  1. Log on and off.

  2. Shuttle from player city to player city.

  3. Wander around 1000m outside of cities.

  4. Log off and wait 10 minutes, then log back on.

  5. Sit and wait.

  6. Combinations of all of the above.

I've done these things over and over again, and still no visit. I think the best procedure is probably just go about playing the game as normal with perhaps with a little more emphesis away from dungeons and NPC cities. Other than that, I don't believe that any "technique" will actually speed up the visit. I've also tried to visit and wander around places where friends have said their visit took place.

Am I wrong here?

I have a friend with two accounts that have both become force sensitive. He said that it took 24 hours on one of his accounts, and "forever" (his words) on the second account. Go figures.

He came exactly on the 72nd hour! I thought that the sith shadows would do the same so I logged out. The next day when I got in they came right away. Maybe the sith shadows make up or not the time you waited for the old man. Like 4 days total for both of them to come.

Well, all those techniques are great, however your missing the main one.

This is how it has worked for my buddies and I every time. Wait 24 hours. Hop a couple of shuttles from planet to planet, then engage in combat.

The old man has showed up EVERY time after the waiting period this way. Just go beat something up rouphly 1200m from any starport.

That should work great for you especially since there isnt much of a waiting list lately.

i did NOTHING and the old man came after little over 24 hours.

To be honest, i think the whole "walk 100m off shuttle" thing is just some guys old joke, and damn he must be laughing now!

ya all the ppl that said this are really dumb
the old man came to them because by the time they told doin all the stupid stuff the old man would have come any way there is no special way to get him
i just continued my dailly business and he came and same for the sith shadows
i logged on one day and i was at my house wen i loged on and i walked 15m away from my house
then i went to guildchat and asked sometone wen the sith shadows would come
and(im serious) the very second i pushed enter and it went up in the chat
the sith shadows spawned right infront of me lol scared the $%&@ outta me lol
lol

I have two glowy toons.. and by some off freak chance I got the Visit in the same exact place. Just out side Coronet in my house, while i was stocking vendors (for the first) and picking up some stuff the my crafter left for my Fighter...

kinda thought that was funny.

And with the sith dudes they were dead before I noticed that they had attacked. Once they jumped me waiting for a shuttle and the second time I think I was fighting something else and they just walked up and got dead.

staying away from npc cities isn't even that important, both me and my friend got our old man when we shuttled to out PA city, and he was waiting on the shuttleport when we finished loading. obviously the game registers that hes gonna visit you while in an npc city, and as soon as you leave it (possibly only via shuttle) hes there waiting for you.

I went home for lunch today. I had to test out a few BH things for the BH board. I stepped outside of my house for a moment (in-game) while I (RL) went into the kitchen to make lunch. I walked back to my computer and saw the old man standing there. So there might be something to the logging on part, but my guess is that it's after some signifficant period of logged-off time. Still...I bet the best thing to do is to just play the game. I can't wait to go home and see if the sith shadow things are waiting for me.

Happened a while ago for me now, but it's one of those 24 hr deals, no tricks, or squat, i play many hours, i was out hunting with a guildmate, actually killing gurks, and all of a sudden he was there, 24 hrs later, hunting gurks again there were the sith. Hey there's a common ground gurks and visitations, naahhhhh, can't be

My own opinion, just play the game normally, he'll show up when he shows up. Patience is required to be a jedi.
