Thread: Old man visit techniques are flawed!

Gramps came to me when I got done buying some 10k armor. I didn't notice until I looked back a second time(I was about to fly off on my swoop). Not sure how long it was until he came to me. Like 3 days or so since the publish came out.

All those things that people tell you to do are to just pass the time. What I did was just get to a player city far away from anything.I was like 2-3k away from the nearest npc city maybe more, but I just logged and a day later got back in, and what was weird was i was typing to someone, where is the old man and there he comes. So just find a nice little area in a player city, don't be on your vehicle and find something else to do away from the computer and after a day just log back in. The more you think about it the longer it will seem.

You're wrong.. I'm on day 4 and he still has not shown up (Starsider). I have tryed everything, even all the Techniques listed up top. The village might be full but, I doubt it. So either they messed with the spawn time or I am bugged but it has been 4 days now.

Here's a way to get him to come. Go to Rori and get two creature missions from a mission terminal in a player city. Go do those missions. Repeat untilthe oldman visits you.
Waiting just makes it seem so much longer. Better to finish off some grinding ahead of time.

I am not sure who you are referring to as being wrong - or why. But if it has been 4 days, I would say that you are most likely bugged somehow. I suggest that you submit a ticket.

You are absolute right. "Repeat until the old man visits you." I don't think anybody can argue with that statement. 
He visits you when your time is up. No matter what you do.

I was just told by a CSR (lol take that as you want) that it can take much longer than 3 days.. Oh well sorry for all the posting on this matter.

Typical! Most CSR's have sh1t for brains. Keep sending tickets and tell them that you know for a fact that it should happen within 72 hours.

I did not logged in after i got glowy for 72 hours... after my next login 3 days later he visit me in front of my housedoor.
Just be patient and wait till your time is come!

All those theories are being put forward or supported by people having no clue about probability theory or statistics. They remind me a lot about those people telling you that they have found the way to win the lottery.
There is absolutely not enoughevidence to support any of the "old man" theories. Most people will just become more frustrated with the waiting if they follow the theories. Though for some people it might make them feel like they are doing something.

he visited me in under 24 hours after i got glowy
i just went from dantooine: imp outpost to mining outpost, from there to coronet, from there to bestine
i did that about 7-8 times and he came

Well..... on my third day (yesterday) went home for lunch, I logged on and walked out of my house he then appeared. I goofed around for 45 minutes or so and there was no sign of the siths. After work I went home and started playing again....was several hours later they appeared south of coronet.
SUMMARY
1. Old man appeared early on the third day after getting glowy and was in a player city.
2. Sith visit late on the third day after getting glowy and was south of coronet near all the shops (Not a city)

Well here's hoping then. I'm on day 4 though and nothing, so I'm hoping later he will visit.. Problem is that I'll be on day 5 in just a few hours. CSR's won't help as they say it can be much longer. It's ok though I can play in space for awhile I guess.. Still bummed out though was kind of excited about being back and doing this quest.
