The VILLAGE will not let you convert Shipwright XP. I do not believe this is fair, please consider this a petition to the devs to allow shipwright XP conversion.

Don't hold your breath, there was a thread somewhere that has stated this, I think it's in the sticky above but I wasn't able to find it with a quick scan.

Anyway....

I would imagine the main reason this won't happen is because not everyone has JTL and it would be a unfair advantage to those that do not have it.

It’s not a bug bro, JTL xp types are not allowable.

Really, then why can a DE that can craft JTL items (unprogrammeed chips, flight computers) convert the XP made by making those to jedi XP? If they're gonna remove one type of JTL xp they should remove ALL types of JTL xp.

I haven't been a DE in sometime, but do the parts that are craftable by the DE for the ships (Unprogrammed chips, flight computers)require JTL? If so the conversion shouldn't be allowed on these parts,if not - no big deal. The key here is having to purchase something in order to accomplish a task (Craft ships, fly in space etc...)

Any profession was supposed to be able to become jedi, and i believe that the devs should expand that to INCLUDE shipwright and pilot.

Well if you think about it, it costs skill points to become a better droid engineer which would enable you to craft the higher complexity items, such as those for the ships. JTL is all about Experience Points, not Skill Points. If you had to give up skill points to further your space professions, I could understand the argument for the XP conversion. Just MO

Shipwright maybe, with a conversion rate that is by far worse than arch due to how quickly you could get exp/fs exp.

Pilot? No, absolutely not. Pilot does not take away from the Skill Point pool, therefore pilot exp shouldn't count for FS exp.

I'm not arguing that JTL professions should not be allowed to convert XP, I'm just saying they currently cannot. In fact, I don't understand why they can't. I understand your frustration.

Becasue as the post pointed out JTL XP ytpes are not allowed. A De that crafts a JTL item gets Driod crafting xp, and not some new xp type. Basicly I think it comes down to how the Dev's wanted to seperate JTL from the ground game as much as possible... and this is just another way to do it. Besides if any of the JTL xp could be converted (pilot, prestige, Shipwright) it would have to be done is such a way it was inline with other profs.

well then they should make it inline with the other profs, at least for shipwright for one reason. Its not right that a FS player should have to drop shipwright just because they cant convert their XP from it.

The resources required to get master shipwright make it a bad thing to drop.

Oh belive me I know... But if they did allow SW xp to be converted it would probably be along the lines of architecture xp and converted at a 35/1 ratio. As it stands It's not worth the trip back and forth to the village to turn in Structure xpo for me. I'll wait till I cap on Structure, artisan, merchant, and surveying xp, and have abunch of grinding resources that I don't need... or the pahse changes.

Mabey on occasion when I have alot of structures to make and I decide to take the time to sort out all the stuff I'll need and go make them there, butusually walls take up too much room.

As for pilot xp... well if SW xp is allowed then Pilot xp and prestige would have to be aloowedor you run the risk of pissing off the pilots and all them calling fould an then we have a whole new issue. Now if you allow pilot xp and prestige then we have an even greater issue. Since there is no cap on pilot prestige and it is by far so incredibly easy to get, then somehow the conversion rate would have to be outragous say 200/1. As it stands I can go out on my Master Pilot (who has no other combat skills ) can get about a million or so prestige an hour if I tried.

Pilot XP doesnt have to be allowed. It doesnt fit into any FS XP section anyway. But shipwright is the same as crafting. It goes straight up the engineering line. They should add it.
