Thread: from no connection to glowie in 5 hours

well, im finlay back in the wonderful world of SWG, i "did somthing to my account" drunk-hydra and switched to world of warcraft, noticed that SWG and all the expansions was 20 bucks at frys so i had to take advantage. got on and it was at the begining of the double exp thingie. soi started grinding rifleman and commando, got master rifleman ina day and a half and im almost master commando now.


i decided to start my quest to become a jedi last night.. started out with jabbas, went straight to imp themepark.. then to nyms, got all my poi badges and then went and ran through the warren (nothing attacked me for some reason so it was fairly easy.) i clocked myself and i went from no connection to glow in 5 hours and 13 minutes. im very proud of myself

Nice, now if you can just make it from Force Senstive to Padawan in less than 18 weeks I'll be really impressed.

still no visit from the old man.


should i jsut go about playing? or will walking arround nowhere speed up the process?

i also went on a glowy spree last night (since no npc cave or base attacks you currently) and did the jabba rebel nym and both warren badges and got glowy around midnight.


I have a couple of questions about the old man...


When and where will the old man show up?


Can i be inside a player city or a npc city and he will still show up?


Can i be in combat and he will show up?


How long after usualy will it take from glowy to old man visit?


Will he follow me for a while after he shows up, say if i am AFK in the middle of nowhere?

5 hours to glowy in a bugged environment ? WOW you rule... I made MBE from Novice Medic in 8 hours due to a bug but i dont brag about it.


And good luck with FS . For my hard earned Phase 4 defending of the village i got no unlock no response from csr and today on log in a message thatI had FAILED the quest. i assure you i counted and killed em all .


Enjoy SWG guys there's a LOT more room for you on the servers now. out of the 9 guildies online just now I was puttin my stuff in the bank. 4 were in last 2 weeks of final subscription and the other 3 are going to leave when the rest of the guild collapses. we already lost 8 of the active CL80 members. And one other guy who logged on got his Old man ... and as a guild we couldnt have been more unimpressed. the old man is depressing as gettin a court summons and the judges decision is 6 months hard grinding.


I might stick my head in for the next expansion, but FYI this game ended when CU hit and SWG2 took over .

That message you got had nothing to do with the quest. EVERY force sensitive got it saying they failed the quest. It means the phase switched from Phase 4 to Phase 1. The storyline is the village is destroyed by the sith outlaws and pirates, and the resets. So you get that message letting you know.

Funny, that's when it started over again, with way more enjoyment, for me. Guess different people enjoy different things, there's plenty of people coming back to SWG, or even starting new these days.

Actually it can be done easily if your lucky I became glowy 3 days before the phase change completed quest 1, and already finished 2nd quest. Here is the breakdown:


quest 1 - 3 days

quest 2 - 3 weeks

quest 3 - 3 weeks

quest 4 - 3 weeks

quest 5 - 3 weeks

quest 6 - 1 day (if i bank my xp to unlock all 4 boxes)


total - 12 weeks and 4 days


wait for old man and mel quest (with a csr ticket for bug) = 1 week


Grand Total = 13 to 14 weeks



Well, I left Dec. 3rd and like I promised I came back to give you another chance.
So Sony, impress me with the new system - not good enough, back to WoW 3/06 !
I am back again 3 months later giving you 1 last chance.
Looks like I will be staying, keep up your hard work.

I am a BH (boo, hiss) that just became FS. Can you please explain the 6 quests in laymen's terms (i.e. - something that a stupid BH could understand)

I did the Old Man / Mellichae quest in 4 days. One day for the Old Man to appear, three days for CSR to respond to Crystal spawning in a house. I'll tell ya, people exaggerate so much... (just playin with ya!)
