Heh, I'm in the same boat. Even as I complete the FS quests I take missions...I just wish more of them would play when I do....
There are 16 quests to unlock the 16 different FS branches. Of the 16, you must master 6 to open the Mellicae quest and start the Padawan path. Thats all I know, and its all I want to know, as I am taking my time and enjoying becoming rather than rushing through it. I currently have 3 branches unlocked but not completed because I refuse to grind.
The FAQ sticky details the 16 quests and when they happen. The guide to Aurillian quests is the best source ofquest info.

I find that hard to believe since SOE implemented Holocron'sfour months after release.The only mystery to Jedi's was the threemonths after release when everyone and their mother was running around getting every badge they could and doing as much in game content hoping, PRAYING that Luke might pop out and show them the way to the force.Then that dream was shattered when SOE says, "Jeez you guys are stupid! Here are some boxes you can all have that tells you what you need to do. All you have to do is master 23 professions and sooner or later a CSR will notice your flagged account and send you an in game email saying:
"CONGRATULATIONS! you have no life. And if you did have a life you are more then likely going through a divorce and will no longer be bound by that minor inconvenience. We at SOE thank you for spending a mind boggling amount of time in front of your monitor in hopes of wielding a glowing stick which does absolutely no damage comparitively speaking.Here are your gimped graphic's robes, now go out there and BE SOMEBODY! Oh yeah, FYI... if you die three times you permadie and you have to reroll a new toon. Unless you're a Jedi Master. Which by that time, you'll more then likely be dead from the epileptic shock of trying to surmount the massive load of xp you have to accrue. Which if you do the math should take you roughly 3 1/2 years if you play 13 hours a day. THANKS AGAIN FOR PLAYING SWG!"
Of course after a few months of the, then small number of Jedi's, going absolutely bonkers they discontinued the Jedi system and then after another god awful chunk of time came up with the current system. That's about when I got rid of my Jedi account in a not so Sony sanctioned fashion.
Master as many classes as you can and maybe, just MAYBE you might be a Jedi. "Organic system" my @ss. I hope SOE fired whoever wrote that press release.
Course, I heard that so many people were ticked off about the CU I had to come back. Finally SOE did something right. Even if they still keep screwing up Jedi's one way or another. At least we still have space! WoOHoO!

man, I have no clue how you could do jabba's and the imp themepark back to back.....and in under 5 hours no less!!
