Thread: Stuck with 6 branches of fs skills forever ? ? !!!!

Hello all, I realize that this question has been basically asked, and basically answered before. I apologize profusely for asking this again. The thing is I have done searches on this and my question hasn't sufficiently been answered for me to stop continuously thinking about it 24/7.

I just recently unlockedthe fs ranged accuracy tree, it also happens to be the last fs branch I need to master before Ican become a jedi initiate.

So my fs template would be this if I were todo the village exit questas soon as possible: Enhanced Reflexes: 4404, and Combat Prowess: 0444

If I defeat Melichae with these 6 branches of fs skills, am I stuck with them for the rest of my Jedi's life on SWG ?

Basically from what i've gathered from in-game conversations, and the little I have been able to glean from the forums (always so unclear, and never concise), is that the 6 branches of fs skills are like a pre-requisite, kind of like master marksman for a bh. A bh can't drop master marksman until he drops novice bh.

I guess I think that doesn't make sense because the village was just meant to replace the holo grind, tobe the path to UNLOCKING the jedi profession, and once you do, Jedi just becomes another available profession to your character. I did not think that these fs skills were to become the 'foundation' so to say of my Jedi's future skills.

If so, I find myself wanting to forego the ranged accuracy (since it is COMPLETELY useless to a Jedi), and wait another 9? weeks or so until I can unlock vehicle control. I'm not saying vehicle control is like uber or anything, I know it's not, but at least it provides SOME benefit, rather than NONE.

So I guess my dilemma is this: Do I wait 9 freakin weeks so I can at least have something of benefitfrom vehicle control, and not have sp wasted for the rest of my Jedi's life? Or is there ANY way that I can drop, or even change out fs skills later on? Even like waaay down the road when I become Jedi Master ? ? /wink

For example, lets say I went ahead and did the exit quest here with the ranged accuracy branch, then later on when vehicle control became available to unlock again, learn it, and then would I be able to drop the ranged accuracy, because I would still have 6 fs branches ? ?

I guess I would like to hear from some experienced Jedi's, and some who have unlocked under this new system. I apologize again for repeating this question. And I am grateful for your responses. Thanks for reading if you did.

I read a post by a Jedi somewhere that you start dropping the FS skills as you need them for the Jedi tree. Make a post in the Jedi forum to confirm this and post back here.

Hope that helped a little.

Think I recall reading somewhere that if you unlock and master a 7th tree, you can drop one of the previous

That makes sense, but it would be great if you could show me where you read this, or if anyone else can confirm ?

The current issue is unresolved. The problem is once you defeat Mellichae and become a Padawan, while you unlock your 2nd slot, you then will not be able to drop Padawan, or of the 6 branches of FS skills you used to get there. Though I believe if you learned another box or branch in addition to the 6, you could unlearn that.

No official word on whether this is working as intended or a bug.

Well unfortunately this is not enough info for me to be comfortable enough to continue my fs grind, so for now my progression is halted.

However, if it is true that I will be able to take up vehicle control later down the road, and then be able to drop the ranged accuracy, that would be great. ThenI could continue my final phase of training before I confront Melichae.

However this brings up another question. Will I be able to use Jedi xp to convert to fs xp to train the vehicle control branch? And if so, whats the conversion factor?

lol

I read in a previous post that it is possible to change your FS template.

A jedi tested this out by unlocking a 7th branch (through the village quests) and then training all the way up. Only after you have 7 full branches can you drop one.As a Jedi, you must have at least 6 branches at all times.

Hope this helps!

This is what I've heard from Jedi that I have talked to... Once you become Padawan, you can no longer change your 6 forcesensitive skill trees or train in additional ones. Most of them really don't make too much of a difference as long as you have melee speed and acuracy, and ranged and melee defense, all the other trees aren't really gonna make or brake your Jedi. I'm in the same dilema myself, and I'd rather just finish the exit quest rather than wait a whole 9 weeks for something that isn't going to make much of a difference in my Jedi. But, if you have the patience to wait that long and make your ideal template, then by all means go ahead. I think everyone is starting to figure out this isn't as great as everyone thought it was going to be (the village quests). Ya there are some cool quests, but it is mostly grinding xp over and over and playing the waiting game.

It is my utmost hope that what you are saying is true. I've heard it from 3 different people now. If it is true, then I can finally clear my mind of all distractions, and continue my final phase of training.

Can anyone else confirm or deny what hopnasty has said ? ?

Can I change my set of 6 FS branches after becoming Jedi?
YES! You must unlock and train up a 7th branch, and then you can drop one of your original 6.
