oh and dont worry about ranged defense too much, as master lightsaber (and lets face it, very few dont go this route) you get uber ranged defenses anyway, just make sure you have melee defense, melee accuracy. you're speed capped on sabers at master so melee speed will only help the grind. survival has been cited as vaguely useful as you can deploy camps and get that incy wincy terrain neg. vehicle control is the other nice thing. otherwise go for luck, assembly or experimentation (for your saber, but the difference is unknown exactly atm)
i've done a bit of research myselflol i could go on and on, but i think this answers your question pretty much
YOU NEED TO HAVE 6 (SIX) FS BRANCHES MAXXED OUT TO BE A PADAWAN
Thanks for posting, but really, read the post if you're going to respond. The last few posts have gotten down to the heart of the question I originally posed at the top of this thread which is this:
I have the option of grinding out RANGED SPEED right now and then do my exit quest, or i can wait for about 10 more weeks (2.5 months omg) and get vehicle control instead.
Some are saying that later on down the road as a Jedi, I can unlock and train a 7th fs branch, then drop one of my other fs branches, to maintain a total of 6 full fs branches.
Others are saying that no, whatever 6 fs branches you have when you become a padawan, you are stuck with for the life of your Jedi.
Personally I am hoping the I will be able to switch out down the road, then I can grind out ranged speed, do my exit quest and get on with finally becoming a jedi, and worry about gettin vehicle control later on.
If it is true that I am stuck with the original 6 fs branches, I am forced to wait 10 more weeks, which will really piss me off, and I probly wont play for those 2 months. Becaue I will not be stuck with 4 wasted skill points on f$%ck$$ng ranged speed.

You are stuck with them. Don't be a fool and try to get more skill points. Trust me, you need those skill boxes, they are a requirement for the Jedi profession like Pistol 1-4 in marksman is for Pistoleer.
Huh? Again I must say, thanks for the response, but really you shouldn't respondunless you know what question you're trying to answer if any.
Anyway, from a similar thread in the Profession:Jedi forums:

Though you currently cannot drop it, you do get a 2nd char. And when its time to quit you can always selll
Huh? I'm not talking about my 2nd char, and I don't plan to quit, or 'sell' my character once he becomes a Jedi. I want to know if, and when it is possible to drop any/all of the fs skills, or if it is possible (like i've heard elsewhere) that if you unlock a 7th fs branch, and master it, you can drop one other branch of fs skills. thanks.
once you get paddywacker status and open your second charcter you cannot ever again not be a jedi on that character although this might happen as soon as initiate but no one has tried to drop FS skills at that level to test it.... the 24 FS skills are pre-requisite and you keep them forever.
however you can train up a seventh branch that you want and drop another branch of FS. you just have to maintain 6 branchs. but i would suggest doing htis while you still have non jedi abilities since jedi xp cannot be used to train FS skills. which i find rather retarded.
Awesome, finally someone who makes sense, and actually answers my question instead of putting up their own stupid question, or completely misunderstanding my question and telling me 'not to worry' or something stupid like that. Thank you Barb-Wire.
Thank you all for your responses. To hedge my bets, and ensure I got responses, I also started up a similar thread in the Professions:Force Sensitive forum, and I have heard there also that you MAY drop an fs branch, as long as you have unlocked and mastered a 7th branch, so that at all times you maintain 6 mastered fs branches (I'm talking after padawan of course).
