Well for me, SWG was a great game while it lasted. Everyoneis relieved about the group xpsituation that the devs changed back, but for me, it doesntmake a difference because I basically stopped logging on after the combat xp nerf.Likesomeguy on this forum said, they probably just did the groupxp nerf to make everyone forget about the 30:1 change. He referred to it as "pulling the wool over oureyes" andI could'nt agree more with him.The only goal that was worthwhile for me, and what brought me to the gamewas obtaining jedi. SureI had to get rifleman and carbineer, but that wasjust to prepare for the FSgrind.I had just startedmyFS grind that I thought was already too long when this wonderfulpubish came. Boy wasI pissed. What were the devs thinking? Ok, so the jedi population doesn't fit the timeline, big whoop. Theresalready many, many, jedi, theres no point of slowing down the population now.And I know the whole thing about the grenades buti guess nerfingthe grenade xp just made too much sense to do.Maybe screwing over legitimate grinders was just a great idea at the time.Making a game 2x longer and even moreboring is not the way to go, especially when jedi is the main attraction for new players.

I would like to thank the developers forbasically stealing my money and ruining an awesome game.

Needless to say, I will be cancelling my account sometime this month.

Thank you for taking the time for reading this angry former SWG player's rant.

30:1 xp is not a game braker, it just really, really sucks. The combat prowess tree can be attained with other skills and just as fast. At this point the FS grind is all about how fast you trade in your xp and your template. with Master Commando / Master Bounty Hunteryou have Pistols, Rifles, Cabines, Heavy weapons, andCombat xp to trade in. Thats5 types of xp! I'm not even going to get into Melee Professions.30:1 combat exchangeis not game breaking it just sucks.

It has absolutely NOTHING to do with advertising. As a fan of Star Wars since the Original Trilogy, I can say that what drew me to the movie and story was something called the Force and the Jedi Knights that used it. That is what SWs is all about. Without the Force or Jedi Knights Star Wars would have been some B rate movie that most likely no one would have cared about. The most well known line from the movie is, 'Luke, I am your father!'. Heck, people that never even seen the movie know that one. When SWG was coming out I would say an overwhelming majority wanted to be a Jedi at some point. So please, quit blaming the Jedi population on SWG's manual that has a Jedi on it feeding it to an Ewok, or SWG's trailer that shows Jedi on it. The reason for the Jedi population is Lucas fault because almost 30 years ago he created a work of art on camera that had Jedi using mind tricks and blocking blasters with a LightSaber. That is the reason for the Jedi population.

You may be right in the long term that people wanted jedi, but I have NEVER seen new players asking about jedi'ness so soon as since the CU tutorial was added.

I had the pleasure of doing this tutoriallast night as I finally got to create an alt and it basically states "You're special, we've been watching you, you WILL be a jedi.. hey, look at how cool it is when 2 jedi fight!!"

I think "most" people who got SWG wanted to be a jedi at some point, but never has it been so "advertised as being your sole and only game objective" as it is now. Hence why new players first question is "How do I be a jedi?", cos 10 seconds before this they were told they would be one.

Well I think that is because new players that start up have indepth manuals on how to get Jedi, case in point the stickies on this forum. At launch it was a mystery. However, I am not sure how long this game has been out, 2 years?, but now people are complaining about Jedi population. That means that pre-CU those people that were working on Jedi are starting to complete their templates. Those people that are Jedi now did not see the advertising out now, they were Jedi because they wanted to be Jedi. The only difference is now new players have different sites and different guides to hold their hands through the entire process. The only thing that does is make them Jedi faster than they normally would be. I don't think that would change their mind on whether to work towards Jedi or not. Maybe I am way off base, but I really don't think the advertising has any bearing on the Jedi population. No matter what it would be out of hand. I atually think if it was still a mystery that MORE people would try to get it just to be unique.

Well boohooo! Run of to ya momma and cry some more!

You better get used toa LONG and BOORING grind to get Jedi, thats how its supposed to be!

If you only started playing and tried to attain Jedi when there was the Profession mastering system, now there was a big grind if you were unlucky, then you'd have gotten some real perspective on the matter!

It was for the Mgrinders.

And the reason they couldn't change the grenade experience? My guess is for the Commando profession.
