ANyone here not rushing the grind?

I have 2/6 unlocked, and around 2 or 3 boxes worth of exp banked, Untill i am done with the quests, I really don't want to rush, I figure playing as normal, I will proberbly have half the exp needed once i am done with the quests, then i can make the choice to grind hard or not, so it will be a long, long time till i unlock, Is anyone else just taking their time? or is pretty much everyone grinding like crazy LOL

I work 76 hours each week, & i have a 3 year old daughter & a 2 month old son, LOL, so when i do get to play, i like to actually play, not grind =/

Anyone else in a similar situation?

I am busting my butt only cause of the upcoming revamp...I think it will be harder to gain xp due to nerfing of buffs... I'd love to take it easy..grinding takes all the fun outta it

/agree

I am totally looking forward to the revamp for play style and such but once it hits, it will be MUCH harder to grind the existing FS branches. About two weeks ago I had unlocked 3 branches and only grinded fsReflex2300 and Senses0010 but once reading how the revamp was going to affect how we hunt, ie. no longer being able to solo stuff likeRancors, I went full out for commando4000.

Since then I have got fsReflex4400, senses0010, and i have banked (and will continue to bank) enough fs xp for combat prowess4004 once the phases shift for me to unlock. I plan on picking up fsSenses Luck as well, so I plan to have 2.55 mill fs combat xp banked before the next phase, inwhich i'll have to drop commando in favor of novie artisan. Then i'll probably go grind out doc0440 and cm0004 to finish fill my unlocked fsSenses branches.

LOL, I hope to have all this done before the revamp... although, i won't have my 6th unlock till mid may so i'm cuttin it close!

All and all, enjoy the game for what it is. You must never think of it as work!

Well form what I read a Master of a profession will have around 3000 health points, thats about whatwe have with buff's. I don't think the combat revamp is gonna hurt us all that much. But to answer the original topic, no I do not grind...I will be a paddie in about a year just like you .

You have the same attitude as me...no hurry aye....i'd rather play the game and not burn myself out. i WILL be Jedi one day, but until this day comes i will play not grind. In saying that however, i DO have it sussed now that i can max on my Rifles and 1 handed (im not using grenades either)in less than 2 hours if my spots arent camped already.

Yeah, but he's likely aiming to have the xp for that last unlockbanked. So it will be close as he says.

The SWG Forums. You will never find a more wretched hive of

I'm not that worried about the CU, I think it will have a big affect on PvP, but with a master Combat Prof, we should be ok for PvE, we might just have more downtime etc, I don't know all the facts, but if you can still solo efficiantly after it hits, Then the grind will still be a grind, just a different one =/

I will be a jedi, But by the time i become a padawan, Most of you will be Knights LOL

What scared me is when I saw a Jedi Knight in Theed cantina and did an /examine.

He had a couple of POI badges, a couple of content badges and one mastered profession. That was it.

This guy must have made the character purely to grind out jedi, and did the bare minimum to get to the village.

I mean, I would have thought that he would have at least picked up a couple errant POI badges just from running around a bit. I really hope this is an alt character and he has actually seen a bit more of what the game has to offer with his main, but this guy must have just ground his nuts off in order to get the glow stick.

I guess I just really don't understand the grinder mentality. I try a bit of grinding myself from time-to-time, but after 1 crate of nades I am bored witless so I go back to speaking to NPC's looking for little quests or Nightsister hunting (not specifically for loot - I am on a revenge trip after haveing them destroy so many of my swoops), or going on a guild Krayt/GDK/DWB raid etc etc. I have started heading towards Jedi (got 3 free unlocks and am now 444111), but sometimes I wish I hadn't, I have no interest in speed levelling a jedi, I just want to finish the jedi stuff, unlock the second character slot and build that up as a stormtrooper character (prolly carbs + squad leader) then just use my jedi as something to do when I want a change of pace.

Guess it takes all sorts, and if people get off on grinding then more power to them, but I have a nagging feeling that it is this type of guy that
after a few months start posting about how there is no content in the game.

he also just could be a pre-pub 9 jedi, wo choose a profession mastery when they need to respec their skills to the new system

If he had been around since then I would have thought he would have gotten a few more POI/content badges, even if just by accident, but it is possible, yes.

Your not alone Kaylum!

I only work a 40 hour week, but have 2 children (10 & 5) so alot of my time in the evening is taken up keeping them occupied as my wife works in the evenings. I manage about 3 or 4 hours a day (inc. weekends) and have so far unlocked 5 of the 6 skill trees.

But like you I am in no rush, as I am having fun gaining the xp and seeing the benefits of the new skills!

Like I put in a post, if u can manage to do a solid 3 hour buff grind a day and 6 hours at the weekend u can bank LOADS of fs xp. But I rather spend my time enjoying the rest of the game and gaining xp whenever/wherever I can.

Also, I recently duelled a friend who just became a Jedi Knight and I very nearly beat him! If it wasnt for the fact he was able to get up and heal himself I would have won! So, another reason why I am no massive rush as the skills I have now are improving and love using them....and they can only get better!
