Thread: Tips From A Graduated Force Sensitive player...

From the moment you type /check and see that the force is glowing within you, you start on a journey, however long, to jedi-dom. I just completed the exit quest a few days ago, and starting the jedi grind. Just wanted to mention a few things to keep your hopes up and inform you:

1) Be patient. Everything comes in its own time. There are a few exceptions to the rule (bugs), but your first visit from the old man will occur within 3 days. Just play out your character the way you want, don't sit around outside your house waiting, because 3 days will seem like 3 years. Next comes the sith, which to my knowledge, also show up within 3 days. Mine showed in 1 day. Then the camp, which leads you to the Village. Congradulations, you are now force sensitive and on your way!

2) It is your character, do with it what you wish. Most say get commando with grenades, because its faster. And they are right, it is faster. But its also expensive, and I know many of you may not have the resources. I may have gotten 50k force sensitive xp from grenades, the rest was with a vibroknuckler and a gaffi stick. You have roughly 3 weeks between phases, so just play your character. Do group hunts, grind a little, PvP, grind some more. I constantly grew tired of just grind grind grind. "One more max out" I would say. It can be done without grenades, I am proof of that.

3) Help each other out. One prime example is a person who needs a solo group, yet can't get one because they changed the way mission payout works. Start a group, and help each other out.

4) Jedi...is worth it. I am the biggest noob jedi ever but the first time I heard the sound of the saber, made it all worth while. 10 of the 16 of my trials were buggered, NPC's disappeared. Don't stress out . You can restart just your current trial and do it over. Sure it tacks on a little time, but this all falls back onto my first tip.

5) Last but not least...little word of warning. The jedi grind, is tougher than the force sensitive grind. You get 900k weapons xp in an hour and half, a little more, a little less, and it does suck that you have to go all the way to village to trade it all in. I get, if im lucky, 20-25k jedi xpan hour. Max. I've been told it gets faster, and I have no doubt. But on the same side, you can't just sit out there and grind aimlessly. You have to watch for NPC's and PC's, along with the random imperial probot that'll drop down on you and give you visibility. It is a whole different game once you get to that point. And its more exciting, just be careful.

6. If some one asks you to help out with their exit quest to kill malichea, do it. It is really fun and the person will likely help you out when its your turn. A week or two before I unlocked,a guy asked me to help him with the quest. We completed andhe waspaying everyone 200kto help, to get enough people. I wouldn't take the credits. Whenit was my turn, he notonly helped out but got 3 or 4 guild mates to drop what they were doing to come help me. There is nothing worse than finishing all of that FS grinding get your old man visit and not have the personell to take on Malichea. (Courtesy of jphillips1868)

I wish you all the best of luck, and remember...in my opinion, all the grinding you do now is well worth it in the end.

**edit: added jphillips1868 tip on helping other people with Mellichae.

Yeah thanks for the tips. I've been working on the force sensitive stuff forever it seems. Glad to hear that it is worth it.

/agreeI think the best moment in game for me (and ive been playing since day 3)was when I finished my padawan trials meditated at a shrine and got the orginal trilogy star wars theme that you really don't hear in game otherwise (at least not thatI remember) anda message that I was a jedi!

I agree with your advice. I would also add one,

I'm a TKM/Master Doctor. I'll probably do the Melee Accuracy quest and not actually train any Persuasion considering the way Med exp caps at 80k.

I'm also a casual player (I get a lot of time every other week, but usually go at least a week without even logging in)

I just finished moving some houses aroundas well as Mastering Pilot so I think it's time to get to FS grinding now. It's good to hear that a TKM can do this grind without dropping and training commando. I had refused to change my prof's for hologrinding I sure as heck am not gonna do it for FS grinding.

Yes, TKM can do a fine job of it. It will be a bit slower than commando, but you are a casual gamer, and that will work just fine for you . Thats why I believe this system isn't necessarily a "grinding" system. You can do as much as you want, when you want, and as long as you do the quests and unlock the trees, you can be a jedi in your own time, and still be effective as a TKM/Doctor, where as before, you had to change all your professions around for a holocron. This is a grinding system if you want it as fast as possible, or if you make it that way.

Ok I finally have the time to do absolutely nothing but grind and I've made a good sized dent in the force grind.

I know the grass isn't always greener on the other side but I am convinced that the jedi grind will be better. Why? Because first of all I won't have to buy grenades anymore therefore saving me hundreds of thousands, if not millions of dollars in grenades AND armor. Second, I think hiding out while a jedi as not to gain vis is actually a pretty acurate part of the Star Wars timeline. So in other words it is more "realistic" in the Star Wars universe if you will. We never saw Luke killing 1,000,000 giant baz nitch lairs now did we (although someone told me Yoda had him do it in a deleted scene)? And lastly, and most important:

NO MORE DEATH RIDE OUT TO THE FORCE VILLAGE!

Those who know from experience, let me know if I'm wrong and just a lowly bastage for thinking this.

Oh yes, I completely agree with jedi hiding out being a part of the timeline. And I don't guess I can say that the jedi grind or the force sensitive grind is better or worse than each other....they are really different actually. Well at my point anyway. The hiding out part actually makes it more fun. A little scary at times too. For those of you getting ready to end all theforce sensitive madness and start the jedi madness, just make sure you have lots of brandy/pikatta pie/citros snowcake. All of that works wonders when you are just starting out.

good to hear some positive feedback. Thanks for posting that

Since my gametime is limited to maybe 3-4 hours a week, i had to take up the commando grenade tree, to help speed things along a little. Since i've been using them, they've really helped and your post here has given me that little extra glimmer of hope. The exit quest for me is still perhaps a month or two off, but i'm happier that i can finish it a little quicker now. And happier to read someones positive post on completing it all themselves.

My exit quest experience was a bit of an odd one. Only had 3 people at first, then 5 more showed up (had no idea who they were, lol). People seem to flock to exit quests, they are quite fun. Started out rough because one of the guys lagged on his bike right into the middle of the camp...needless to say, the red dots were like swarming bees. I ran because i didn't wanna fail the mission, but everyone else, except the jedi with us, died. Luckily enough, someone tanked Mellichae away from the camp before they died, so he was a good 150m out from the rest of his cronies. We wiped them out and the crystals, then continued to wail on his head for a about 60 seconds, and he died. I was freaking out though.

There is no peace, there is anger.
There is no fear, there is power.
There is no death, there is immortality.
There is no weakness, there is the Dark Side. I am the Heart of Darkness.
I know no fear, but rather I instil it in my enemies. I am the destroyer of worlds.
I know the power of the Dark Side. I am the fire of hate.
All the Universe bows before me, I pledge myself to the Darkness.
For I have found true life, in the death of the light.

Great tips and it gives hope to us casual players.

I've been playing for over a year now, started in september of 2003, I did one holo and was thinking about starting the other one as it siad TKM. But at the time I wasn't in the mood to charge my combat class again.

I started the village on the vary frist phase, and saw the grind that was ahead. Once again I didn't want to change my character in order to become a jedi. So i chose to take the long... slow road.... At times i just want to drop everything to go down the fastest road i can... but then i look at how much I enjoy my character atm... and stay true to that....

Reading this post just goes to show me that it can bedone on your own time. and you don't have to rush a good thing.

Thanks for this.
