According to a few, when another player gets "Glowy", it is reason for all of those who are FS ro rejoice. A process has begun that the player considers to have been hard won, and that often has taken a great deal of worry and concentration. A goal has been met, and another player is happy. But to most of theJedi (not all mind you, but more than not) it's another tragedy to be lamented. I read posts where someone, maybe a long-time player, maybe a newer one, has gotten Glowy and wants to share the information with online friends here in the Forums. But often the news is met withlower case "yay''s, or even the occasional lamentation. So here's another one. And I'm happy about it, hope you are. But if you're not? Wll, you're welcome to feel the way you like. I even understandwhy you might feel less than happy for me. And really, it's OK.

Today, on July 11th, sometime in the early afternoon, after doing the Newbie Quests in Mos Eisley and three other Parks (Reb, Ny'ms, and Jabba's), I got Glowy. I'm very happy about reaching my initial goal, but there's alot to do, and it's on;ly the first step. Waiting on the Old Man after getting Glowy is the easiest part of the whole thing. I'm a CL 39, and that means that I'm fixin to be in BIG TROUBLE, unless I can get that up ! I'll either have to die repeatedly, or stay grouped with another high level player. I'll be a babe in the woods.

I hope you rejoice with me, but if you can't, I understand. But be aware, either way; I true Jedi was born today. I will always play in character, and in character for me means Jedi. Not that I"ll always be in RP, but I'll always try to be an example for those younger players who perhaps haven't lived as much as an old man like me. The whole purpose of the game is to have fun, to enjoy it. And I'm going to.

Well done!!!

I got glowie a few weeks ago.

I vow to RP my Jedi to the best of my ability. Never will I be found pointlessly waving my Lightsaber around in front of new players.

IMHO, my Robes and Sabers will be reserved for when I'm on my own, or when I'm in combat.

LOL, at CL 39, I won't need luck to defeat the Sith Shadows, I'll need a bloody Miracle !! AND some Guildies to group with and helpout. LOL

Congratulations! I made glowy on Saturday. Now just waiting for the old man to visit. Can't play every day so I am learning the art of patience quickly.

hrm... good news for the people who have wanting me to take then through the Warren (I hate that place).

Good work on glowy

I'd suggest that you spend almost all your time in a group hunting until you meet the sith who ambush you.

This will get you a few more CL (39-80 is actualy pretty quick) and will generaly mean your combat level calculates to 80 thanks to group members.

Just be careful to keep an eye out for the old man.

If the sith attack you while you are in group make sure that everyone know that these are your sith and you NEED to loot them.

I'm just about to become a Jedi myself as soon as I can finish the phase 3 quest, whenever phase 3 starts.

I've been playing for a bit over a year and a half now and I've completed every profession (some twice) and currently have a count of 112 badges.

Jedi will be something new and fun to do.

Just keep a couple peeps around you when you think the sith might attack (i.e. 0-72 hours after old man, and when not in a permanent city) and you'll be fine.

Though i am always curious why people decide to get glowy and tackle the village/sith before they finish their full combat template (or at least get close).

I'm not sure if it was 100% planned.

He used the noob badges instead of the Warren.

The themeparks are good for people who are around his level.

So he may have just been doing what he could in his down time and then next thing you know *poof* glowy.

An update:

Yeah, it was planned. Belive it or not, all I want is access to the village right now. My plan is to bring my CL up by simply enjoying the game after that. My problem was I worry too much. Si I went ahead and got glowy to get that distraction out of my way. In the time between getting access to the village and starting my quests, my plans are to help my guildmates all I can to repay them fot their kindness and help to me. In the process, my CL will go up as it should, with experience.

BTW, anyone willing to post a short "Guide" about how the conversation with the Old Man goes? He hasn't shown for me yet, I figure he got a bad batch ofprunes and is a little "occupied" at the moment.

Another thing while I'm thinking along this line; (true story, I COULDN"T make a bug this good up !!) While in Mos Eisley the other day, having just got Glowy, I was on my way out of town to finish something I'd started nearby. I happened to me watching the screen in a certain part and BLAM, I saw it.

There were two Womp Rats, just in front of me, doing the Nasty. REALLY !! One was on TOP of the other, and it was... well, you get the idea. Anyone else seen this? I swear I wasn't drunk!! I was at the College Library, really.
