Hi everyone, I know this is lame but I'm totally stumped, so please don't post calling mea lame noob loser... I already know.

I am willing to pay someone to craft me 15 of each cure so I can finish this phase. I really did try to do it, I spent hours trying to craft the cures but I can never seem to get it right. I've never done any profession involving experimentation and I spent ages reading guides but still no luck.

If anyone can help me out on this I'd really appreciate it! I'm soooo close to finishing the village I can taste it... and this is driving me insane!!

Many thanks

I am embarking on the same quest and would like any insight on what is involved 'specifically' in regards to completing this quest. I have read the guides and I am aware of what you 'need' to do it properly but how does the quest operate? Currently I am workin on Doc0004 so I can get the highest experimental levels, I would just like to know, specifically, what to expect.

Anyone who has completed this quest would help immensly if you respond. Perhaps some open discussion will help both of us (and perhaps avoid u having to buy the cures...?)

Well, in the guide (http://forums.station.sony.com/swg/board/message?board.id=Forcesensitive&message.id=33406) ... further down it shows you the experimental levels.. each experimental level cures something else.

Excerpt from guide...

  • fever = 0-8% experimentation

  • vomiting = 8-16% experimentation

  • open sores = 17-25% experimentation

  • puss filled lesions = 25-33% experimentation

  • erratic heart rate = 33-41% experimentation

  • respiratory failure = 42-50% experimentation

  • lost vision = 50-58% experimentation

  • partial paralysis = 58-66% experimentation

  • violent spasms = 67-75% experimentation

  • bloody cough = 75-83% experimentation

  • swelling = 83-91% experimentation

  • internal bleeding = 92-100% experimentation

  • I am currently doing the PURSUASION quest this phase and I am halfway through and I got the Ice Pendant and Aurilian Plant which requires 10 more patients to be healed.

Yeah, I read this a few weeks ago to preparefor what I'll need to be/have on hand when doing it but I was wondering what it actually involves. Sorry for appearing 'thick' but do you just talk to Salvarra, she gives a speil about helping the sick, then you are told to heal so-and-so from this droid(?). Am I given schems to use to build these 'cures'? And what does it mean by fixing two cures causes another issue? Once you heal that 3rd problem, is it considered a complete cure and thus counts toward the magic num of 5 to unlock?

If anyone could justwrite a walk through of what is done to cure a single patient, that would be incredibly awesome. Time required would be nice too. Thx in advance...

I only just finished last night. I'm master doc, borrowed a +1 crafting suit, took enough port to make an alcholic think twice, and got more +900 resources than you've ever seen......and still couldn't get more than 86% experimentation. The most irritating part was that I still have up to 2 points left each time, but the boxes were all filled not allowing any more. It wasn't until I got some 999 OQ copper that I finally made it to 94% experimentation

Anyone on farstar, send a tell and I should have a few of the "internal bleeding" stims left...

I completed the whole thing. A couple of pointers for this and other posts above:

    1) You need a food and chemical crafting tool and a droid with medical crafting installed.

    2) The schematic is a "mission" schematic and will appear in your crafting tool when you accept the mission.

    3) You need doc 0-0-0-4 for the experimentation points (more to follow)

    4) The total possible % on your finsihed product depends not only on toon skills, SEAs, and food but also (and arguably more importantly) on the quality of your resources. Remember, the final highest percent possible depends on Overall Quality AND Potential Energy. If you don't have enough experimentation points to get above 86%, you probably have a low PE stat and you didn't notice.

    5) The crafting window shows two cure attributes and one side effect attribute. Clicking to assemble will set these to their starting values. If they are already higher than the cure you need, your base resources are too good and you need to try again with lower quality.

    6) Using the cure table as a guide, experiement by clicking on the bar meter of the attribute (Primary or Secondary) you want to change, then push "Run Experiment". You will succeed or fail to different degrees and the percent (as well as the cure) will change up or down. When you get the attribute set right, quit experimenting on that attribute and see if you can get another cure you need out of the second one. Spend any remaining experimentation points you have on the side effects box, to get them lowered or eliminated.

    7) You don't have to use all your points at once. Add a couple, run experiment, and try again. By "walking" the cures up the scale, you'll pretty soon get good at guessing the right spot to aim for for each cure.

    8) Drop the finished cure from your inventory onto the NPC med bot. Talk to him again and you should see the cured diseases are removed from the list and any side effects you imposed are now on it. Get everything down to fever and nausea. These cures can be assembled from low quality resources without experimentation and you're done.

    Hope this helps.

when i did this quest we had docs and master medics...the way we all got around it was get everyone to group up who is doing the quest...chances are ppl will have resources you dont have etc...the docs in the group would craft the meds the medics could'nt and the medics had resources that some of us docs didnt have etc...so we ended up helping each other out without having to leave the village

Yay! I finished the quest last night on my own. I happened across a large quantity of Steel with OQ 1000 and some fruits with PE 995. That plus the doctors crafting apron I borrowed JUST gave me enough experimentation to get all of the cures.

Thanks to everyone that gave me advice on this quest- it was invaluable. And good luck to everyone else embarking on the persuasion quest!

Bah! You beat me to it! I had just finished the unlock last night and was gonna post something like this (goin for the pendant/plant later). Like most people, I was pretty iffy about how this worked, i blew3 or 4 cures just experimenting to cure one ailment at a time and not even paying attention to 'residual effect'. I was even at a point where I didn't think it could even be possible because it seemed like every cure i made had a residual effect. Anyway, once I figured out the 'trick' (mostly the exp'ing on residual to elminate it), it became actually fun doing these 'quests'. It was like playing a mini-game. I enjoyed trying to cure more than one thing at a time and if it ended up with a low residual effect, my next cure would not only cure an existing issue but take care of the residual i created with my previous cure.

So how did I do it? Of course, I was Doc0004 (no crazy aprons or med exp attachments), had 950+ oq and very good PE (don't knowexactly, coulda been a fluke) fungi and steel. So I came prepared to handle anything, right? Nope, I got stumped on that blasted fever! I could cure internal bleeding in a heartbeat but because I had no uber 'bad' resources on me, I couldn't get the lowest ailment.

So guess what? I started med foraging for resouces! I couldn't believe it, this 'skill' was finally getting used Unfortunately, I didn't want to waste any more time foraging resources (cause it was takin forever) and trekked all the way back to Sci Out then cnet to get some uber bad flora and go all the way back to cure fever. Sure enough the droid 'remember' me and I cured it and the others for the unlock.

Moral of the story, it doesn't matter how tough you are in the med/doc prof, coming prepared is the absolute key...Do not forget uber bad resources when you bring your uber good resources! LOL

Very interesting question. I doubt the schem can be transferred since numerous guides indicate that the doc crafting the cures needs to be doing the quest as well (you also supposedly lose the schem once all 15 people are cured). Since that is the case, your alt would have to become FS and take the quest as well.

the doc / medic needs to be force sensitive as the schem is not transferable if memory serves me well, but a doc / medic could make the cures and transfer them to another player...also when i did it we found that having low end resouces was vital for the fever cures i think it was.

    hope this helps
