Thread: Actually C12s seem perfect

After doing a lot of my grind the 'hard' way, by maxing unarmed (900k) with 90k combat I picked up a bunch of C12 crates to give it a go.

I never really fancied the cost and armor damage (an lack of availability of imp dets and protons) and the re-grind so felt the C12 method might just be my best hope and to be honest I am very surprised!

Still take Baz Nitch missions (using a grouped atst to raise the mission level) and stand in the middle of the lair with 3 stack of 5 C12s and then spin attack the rest of the spawn with TKA. 7 sets of 2 missions in a a similar area caps and I can cap twice in a buff session. This means 250k of FS experience in 3 hours (+ 150k credits for the missions).

C12s are easier to come by and the grind is now more realistic with no template change required.

I am probably preaching to the choir but when it comes to nade grinding and FS xp C12s are necessarily a bad option!

C12's are the gateway drug, soon you will realise they are so effective you want to try C22's, so you pick up novice commando, then before you know it you have master commando and are grinding purely with proton grenades

how much better are proton grenades vs

Imp Dets

Thermal Dets

c22s

c12s?

I'm already a TKM/MCommando, but just curious about the difference in effectiveness (Never used a grenade in game).

Request for clarification: "Baz Nitch" or "Giant Baz Nitch"? I know GBN's are more popular for commandos, but they have ~20% blast resists and take a lot of C12's to kill them last time I tried. And can I raise the mission level using any ol' grouped droid, or is an ATST somehow special in that regard? Thanx in advance.

I have a question.

I've been using C12s on Giant Baz Nitches as well, and it just seems like they do hardly any damage, estimating it would take about 50 to kill all of the ones in the area. Is this right, or am I off a little bit?

Additionally, would it be worth grinding up the commando grenade line, or is it really just more efficient to stick to C12s?

Thanks.

Not missing much no. They do take a long time to kill with just C12s but i use 15 (3 stacks of 5) per lair and get the HAM about 1/3 toa 1/2down then drag them out and spin attack to death. What this does is treble/quadruple the combat xp that i would have got with just TKM as well as getting the 900k unarmed. So 130k FS every village trip....2 trips per buff.

Thanks for the reply.. I tried it myself for awhileand I like your method of 3 'nades per GBN spawn. Regular baz nitches were a waste of time. Looking forward to seeing what I can get with a full buffsession.

C12'sare about 900 damage [blast]

C22's are about 1500 damage [blast]

Imp Det's are about 2200 damage [blast]

Protons can hit 4000+ [heat?]damageand cost less in resources but more in factory time than imp dets

Ok, so using those numbers, if I run up and tap a spawn and FD and wait for all the little baddies to run out, then stand up and nuke (any idea how much HAM one of those nests have) with Protons it shouldn't take very many, or am I missing something here?

Oh, I love 'em, they're making the FS grind attainable without changing my template to include another combat prof (I'm TKM/MD). Now just if I can find a vendor on Scylla that is stocked..

Before I dropped WS, I made one last run of C12's.... I was selling them pretty cheap the last week.. and no one bought them...

after clearing out my vendor, I was just about to destroy the FULL Backpack that held them when I thought to my self... I should really use these myself...

My question is... is 50 crates of c12's enough to finish 4 branches?
