I could be wrong. but I think anyone can use them... they are a "starter" weapon.

C12's are the gateway drug, soon you will realise they are so effective you want to try C22's, so you pick up novice commando, then before you know it you have master commando and are grinding purely with proton grenades![]()
hahahha you are so right
thats exaclty hwat happened tgo me. i got my first c12s made some xp, theni found out about c22 and i loved htem. but i then began to wonder what it would be like to use thermals, so i mastered field tactics and over the past 3 days and thousands ofcreditsi filled two branches. you cant beat 300k combat xp in 25 minutes.

My question is... is 50 crates of c12's enough to finish 4 branches?
It takes about 12 crates of thermal detonators each branch, so I don' think 50 crates of C12's would be enough as they do much less dmg so you will need many more.

Awww now you guys have got me thinking! No fair! Seriously though 300k in 25 mins. Looking at my earlier statement it would seem that its not all that hard for me to level marksman now and go for that 4000 commando!
Going back to a previous comment though its important to remember that I am not outright killing Giant Baz Nitches just getting the HAM down to get enough extra combat xp. So instead of 900k unarmed with 90k combat I get 900k unarmed with 300k. So in terms of crates a cap takes 14 lots (missions) of 3 stacks of 5 or 42 stacks. Fuzzy math gets me to 10 caps per line so 420 stacks or 17 crates per line.
But to heck with that....300k in 25mins has REALLY got me thinking!

I've considered going commando, but as a Master Doc self-buffing is just sooooooo addictive.. hehe

I'm a Master Rifleman and i'm finding this grind to be quite expensive. I doesn't really bother me because of the combat xp seems to be worth it. I just started this 'nade grindin thing last weekend and it is sweet. I typically setup 5 stacks of c12s, gun down the lair to about 50% then run into the middle and spam one stack of c12s then heal (my health gets pummeled to about 60% by then so gotta use a stimpC). As a transdoshan, i can't wear gloves/boots so my health bar drains relatively quick. I can usually kill 4/6 GBNs without having to use my t21. Takes about8 mins to complete and be at the next mission (Avg). Problem is, i usually end up with really low rifle xp and ultra high combat xp, which is still good but i'd like to cap both before I hit the village. I think I'll try that 3 stack thing then finish em off with the rifle, maybe my mind pool will last longer...

YUP. gateway drugs they are lol
i started w/ my normal templete using c12's on hurton stalkers. was good xp. but then i left swg for a lil while and came back with alot of xp to make up for, so i switched. picked up a cheap crate of cryobans to try em out, liked em more then c12's but not that much. tried out imperial detonators, havent went back since lol have yet to try thermals or protons, as i dont wanna use that much time. imps/thermals are fine for me right now.

I ended up just grinding my doc up to Master Munitions and Weapons Crafting. Cheaper in the long run I thought and making money on the side selling extra gernades.

I use approximately 2 crates of C12's with PuP's every time I exchange XP in the village. So...if you need to fill 4 branches, that would take 49 trips to the village (cashing in Combat XP only). Therefor, 2 crates x 49 trips = 98 crates.

My previous question didn't get answered, if anyone knows please: Does grouping with an AT-ST get you better missions than grouping with a regular droid? I was grouped with my droid, and getting level 40 GBN missions (11K payout). But only 4 or 5 GBN's per spawn at this level, so in a 3.5 hour buffsession, doing exactly as described, I only managed the equivalent of 130K FS xp, capping combat once at about the 2h15min mark. I get 130K FS by capping unarmed in a cave somewhere then finished the buffsession with grenades for a combat cap, I was hoping for better with this method. I wasn't in a large solo group.
Trying to double-tap or milkthe lairs only ended up in many of them "incomplete" (I've milked lairs before,on Endor and other planets, very successfully, so I don't know why this kepthappening), and it's almost funny when all the GBN's but one run off to fight a family of rancors or a NS ranger. ALMOST funny.
So I ended up with the same amount of FS xp at the end of a buffsession, except that's it's cost me many more grenades, speeder maint, and beat up more expensive armour (I grind unarmed in Ubese).

To get the most amount of animals to spawn from a lair, the mission level needs to be 99+, so grouping with your atst would be better than a normal droid, but I have no idea if they get you above level 99. Just get in a solo group of about 10 peeps or more

Very true. As a master rifleman, i'm pulling in the exact same level/payout missions as what Utek wrote without being in a solo group or havin a droid grouped with me. The best way to pull more difficult (increased spawn) lairs is to join a solo of like 10 peeps and run with that.
