I know ya'll want your Jedi characters desperately, and you want it easily. i.e. dropping grenades at your feet for 16 weeks at which point it's guaranteed you'll unlock, but...........your assured way of doing is going to turn the game into this........

Is this what you want? Well, it's coming.

I think the CU and the next few patches will slow it down a bit though with the nerfing of the xp etc..

Lets wait until we see it ..

These new guys dont understand all that has happend in the past and its pointless to try to show them this right now man.

They just dont know...cant blame them.

I love that viedo its great. We all pay the same per month, if you want jedi get one noone is stopping you. It's the end game like it or not. No matter what you do the players are going to flock to the most powerful professions in the game, no matter what game it is. Just becasue some people can't hack the grind, don't hold it against those who do complete it and have fun. I'm sure both sides in that viedo had alot of fun that night. Lets just remember IT'S A GAME

Hey Iskareot, it's not specifically about Jedi, it's just a PvP battle between a few guilds who gathered their best. Read the posts on Ahazi, Einstein. THIS IS A REGULAR PVP BATTLE, not a Jedi video showcase. And that's why it's so disturbing.

Which makes you the fool, for assuming you knew what this video was actually showing.

That video says it all. It also says that when that day comes to my server, I'm quitting the game.

As long as Jedi is as powerful a prof as it is this is the only way it can end. Every combat prof fears another, a melee stacker can be beat by a carbineer with dizzy kd shot, Combat Medics and rifleman can target the mind and be very successfull. By the same token these ranged profs can be easily stated and killed by a good melee fighter who uses KD Dizzy on them first or a pistoleer with a stun gun and eye shot. There's a rock paper scissors balance for pretty much everyone. EXCEPT.....Jedi who are totally beyond this. Their ability to heal, do the most damage with an LS and kill or at worst escape gank squads with force run makes everyone want to be Jedi. If for no other reason than being powerful, even if they're not in love with the lore of the movies which most people are too.

If you really don't want to see this future you know what needs to be done. You have to make people not want to be Jedi, esp the one's that just want to be powerful. Take away all the stuff they didn't have in the movies (like force run and healing). Luke skywalker's hand didn't grow back after Vader took it off. And Vader himself got so messed up he had to wear a mask to walk around in public long before that. Make them subject to another combat prof or two (ie TK & Sword). Make lightsabers heat damage. Many will stop their quest to be Jedi right then and there.

Of course you'll lose many of the most loyal players of the game. Unless they got it through ebay a Jedi had to dedicate a lot of their free time to this game and they'll be ready to walk if they're so nerfed without giving them something in return. For the ones that crave power you make the melee stacker the most powerful in the game and give them that alternative. You get rid of 100% resists so those that decide to keep playing Jedi aren't locked out from doing damage to some heat resistant mobs. You get rid of the force pool so Jedi aren't restricted from using their specials. Give Jedi extra skill points to pick up another prof to use with their jedi, like scout and medic.

Some would still do it for the novelty and the extra content but all the one's that took it up to pwn people would drop it because it would mean getting pwned themselves.

Like Yoda said: "Excitment, Adventure, A Jedi craves none of these things, you are reckless!"

Make Jedi boring and very few will do it. You'll have your wish.

Finally someone with some intelligence. I have to agree that something needs to be done. Does it have to be nerfing Jedi capability? I don't think that would stop people from wanting to swing a glowy stick and hear it woosh. I think what needs to be done is to make the FS quests as they are, but make the Jedi grind even HARDER. Allow Jedi to get listed on the terminals even easier than is possible now. Make robes part of the visibility factor. Increase the range at which PCs can see Jedi and thus 'report' them to the Empire. Make it 128m. Significantly lower the damage output of all Jedi UNTIL they finish their templates, and then boost them to where they are currently. Bring Vader and his goons out to sweep the galaxy now and then and set the Padawans back.

Give them their path, SOE, but make the actual Jedi training much, much more difficult.

Or bring back perma-death.

So basically you want piss the people who actually plan to play Jedi "the right way" up and down the back becuase other people can't keep their sabers in their pants?

Once again, a cannon is drawn when all was needed was some love and care - Jedi are FORCED into PvP combat as they:

A) get accused for lootwhoring despite the fact they have just as much right to nice loots as john/jane doe. The only fun that isn't deliberately greifing other people is PvP as that is something you chose to do.

B) are allowed to rule PvP becuase SOE can't figure out something more imaginative than pitting the very powerful Jedi vs. the powerful combat stackers and CM due a badly developed FRS. Before the Jedi influx there were still one class that ruled all PvP - CM. People were desperately crying for nerfs but it was only when it was appearant that they beat Jedi *easily* that poison resist buffs got introduced to the game.

Yes SOE favours Jedi, yes something needs to be done but making Jedi harder to play is not the answer.

Hmmm.....

Looks like some people are having a great time playing this game in that video. That is the point of this game. If Jedi are intimidating to you in PvP...don't PvP. If Jedi are beginning to appear all over your server, perhaps you should form a BH guild and level them out.

SOE designed a water and fire system for Jedi and BH...but the BH side hasn't been strong enough to keep them down. Gank squads are a major part of this on both sides.

Now, add in the Jedi vs. BH system that is coming, and you will have several Padawans...hundreds by your estimate maybe...that won't make it 3 days if they aren't careful.

Then, I think you will see a thinning. Of the Jedi I see on Sunrunner, very few are Knights. Many are Padawan and don't run around like in that video....but if they did...who cares?

Sad how is this sad? If it's not what you want to be a jedi.... if you can handle the heat get out of the effing kitchen. SO what if there are tons of Jedi. This is the message boards were aspiring Jedi get together to encourage each other. So some are just into it for the extra FS enhancements some are into it just for the 2nd char slot on the same server. As for me I am into it because I want to be a Jedi. I love to PvP, and PvP is going Jedi so either roll with it or get out of the way.

But as far as this post.. get this BS out of our house and go complain on the " I am a Non Factor noob that can kill a chuba and I suck IRL board"

There is no peace only Destruction...

Looks like the players are the sad ones in this situation, BloodChalice. They can watch that video and see nothing wrong with it, lol. I'm done with this thread.

Yeah, the need to become Jedi is like crack for some people. If they had to sacrifice every decent part of the game mechanics just to become a Jedi, they would. Which is why if this goes unchecked, SWG is going down the tubes. Or at the very least, it won't be so special anymore and I'll just move on.
