I see nothing wrong with this video to be honest. Its a pvp battle, mostly jedi,...yes. But is that bad? Jedi vs Jedi is the only fair match up in pvp Jedi vs regular combat prof = Jedi win easily. I dont know if your gawking at the shear number of jedi or what. But I feel if someone wants to play jedi then let them. They earned it with all their efforts and sacrifice. More Jedi = more people to fight in the FRS, which is good for jedi. In the future I think there may be a problem with Jedi in the GCW if they leave Jedi as it currently is, and allow them into the GCW.Seems like another keep jedi rare on my account post. Either that pointless whining.

Just think....how would u like to log on to your complete jedi template and have no other jedi to pvp with. Thus you can not advance in the FRS or have any good pvp fun. As of now Jedi vs Jedi is the only fair/challenging matchup. I dont think Jedi are overpowered. SOE's methods make it clear that every fighting proffession is to have balance.... I.E negatives and positives. Jedi have no armor so youd assume they should have some kind of special defense or high offensive/DPS capabilities.Correct me if imwrong the XP ratio for Jedi is like what 1:5 to normal combat professions? Not to mention that Jedi skills require way more XP to fill boxes, and they require more SPs. Jedi should have special abilities like Force run and Healing because its necessary and also because it is Jedi lore for them to have special powers, duh! How many Jedi Knights do you know with Medic skills or Survival for terrain navigation, why should a jedi waist sp's on non-jedi related abilites just to survive? If you think about it there is a lot more balancethan you think...the postive and negatives are there. I just dont see why people whine so much...maybe they are jealous?Maybe they cantwin?(beatjedi, one ofmostpowerful warriors in the galaxy) and who says they should be able to? Everything doesnt need balance, some things are just how thedevs intend them to beto keep the game world authentic.

MMORPG's are ruined by the players not by the development team. I would hate to be a programmer or someone on the dev team, its like babysitting, having to deal with constant complaint and whinig. And all because people pay to play, they think everything in the game should be how they want it. Whatever happend to just finding something in the game you like and just playing the damn game. So what tons of Jedi PvPing....oh my people having fun who earned the rank of jedi, lets get out the nerf bat my god...

God forbid people just mind their own business and let people have fun with their profession. I'm not saying the game should be full of unbalance and exploits, but that it's not our job to determine the direction of every single game element. Atleast try to leave some of the decisions to the dev team. Think before you post, errr whine...

lol you just don't get it do you? SOE is trying to make money here... what you don't realize is that SOE is trying to keep Jedi rare, and at the same time make it somewhat possible for people to become their big money maker. Im sure more then half of the people who bought this game bought it to become a Jedi. "Nerfing" or making Jedi less powerful will only make SOE lose more and get less customers. Im sorry to say it, but it seems that SOE doesn't care if you quit, just as long as you paid for the game.
Anyways... Friend of mine and me we're talking... And what if they made tka like Jedi, but just alittle less powerful? Then you wouldn't see as many Jedi around because there would be another prof with some content. Have you do a few quests or grind some exp, then become tka student. Then do some kind of trials and then become tka novice. Then make the four branches of tka into four different trees. Healer for jedi would be teras kasi monk for tka, sabers for jedi would be teras kasi warrior for tka, and so on! Anyhoo! Just my two credits

LOL, you didn't read past the first sentence of my post did you. I think I put the onus on SOE. I'm not mystified why anyone wants to be Jedi. It is the most powerful combat prof. In my response to the original post I was saying the only way to stop this future that he talks about is to make being Jedi less desireable. That's a fact. Not just an opinion. There's no way to stop more people from going for Jedi other than nerfing Jedi.

There are a myriad of ways to do it. I suggested some. But if you leave Jedi the way it is, without making other combat classes, esp. BH, stronger then there will always be a mass of players trying to get to jedi and a lot more movies like the original poster complained about.

You might like this, you might hate it. If a KOTOR like rpg is what you're looking for then I guess you'd like it. But it ruins the game for a lot of people. A lot of people who will leave, if the only way they can be successful in PVP is if they go Jedi.

No offense to the original poster, but I honestly don't care if you think a high number of Jedi will ruin this game. As bad as this sounds, I'm not choosing my profs so YOU can have fun. I'm choosing them so *I* can have fun. If I can't get my jedi in a reasonable manner, I'll leave. SOE knows this and has made it "easier". I'm happy about this. If this ultimately runs the game into the ground in 2 years, I could care less. I'll just move on. SWG is not my life, it's my diversion. As such, your happiness has no bearing on my choices. If the game turns into a world where the only non-Jedi are NPCs, that's fine. I'll still enjoy it. The day they cancel SWG because it's 100% Jedi, I'll be sad for 30 minutes (the time it takes to drive to the BestBuy and get my next MMORPG).

LoL

Jedi PvP Battles - Gee I've had to deal with that for some time now, so nothing new there.

Lots of Jedi running around the server - BH's not doing a good enough job slowing down the process

Jedi most powerful profession - i strongly disagree

I have the ability to solo mobs that jedi cannot. Jedi can fight a few things that I cannot (lack of ls block and no ranged mitigation).

In one on one duels, I have yet to meet a jedi I have not or could not beat, although in factional pvp I've killed a few and been killed by groups of jedi.

For this and the simple fact that the fs grind is painful enough as it is, am I all that concerned with jedi overruning the server?

Not really. Now that it seems Lucasarts has finally given permission to SoE to allow movement and interaction with key movie\storyline characters (ie Vader) there really isn't too much to worry about. I'm about 2 phases away and less than 40 trips from my Jedi, but once I get that padawan, its time for my main to become the alt as I'm not gonna spend the brunt of my gametime constantly "grinding" as even now my fs "grind" is really loot hunting xp. But he will definitely be nice to have around whenver I feel like playing with a glowstick.

Not everyone playing this game is grinding in this manner. Some casual people are grinding a little at a time. Some people are maxing one combat profession, or two. Others are crafting, doing medic quests, etc. You cannot lump EVERYONE who is going to feel the pain of where SWG and the Jedi grind is going, into one huge group.

What many fail to realize in my opinion is that while there are many padiwans there are few fully templated Knights. Jedi are not nearly as powerful as you think they are either. My template is almost done. I have 2 masters and am on my last 4 boxes. I get owned by melee stackers if dont run. In fact if they have strong weapons and prepare with food they don't even need to stack. If someone plays their template right they can take a knight or make him run. This is sad given the insane amount of time it takes to grind Jedi.

You think the FS grind is hard wait till you do Jedi. Its fun at first with the light saber but Im so sick of GVT and Seething Bols that I could just about puke and then I take on some guildies expecting to be good against them as you think and I have my butt handed to me. Its not as all powerful as you think...

Since I last refreshed this thread, I've earned almost 300k combat XP as part of my long march towards Initiate, but that's my choice. I think anyone who has/currently is going through the Grind will conceed that this aspect of it is necessarily fun, but it's the ultimate end result of becoming an Initiate/Padawan/Knight/Master that drives players to pursue this profession. Don't hate on Jedi or those who want to become Jedi, or say how this game is going down the toilet because of Jedi. As it's been reiterated in this thread and others, SOE is giving its customers what they want: the opportunity to become a Jedi Knight, one of the enigmatic characters in the Star Wars saga. While it's jacked in terms of the game's timeline, they're just doing good customer service: give the customer what he/she wants. If you don't like Jedi or don't want to be a Jedi, here are some suggestions:

-Don't take the path to become Force Sensitive.

-If you really hate them, become a Bounty Hunter, hunt the Jedi down and kill them.

-Take a break from the Ground game and, if you have JTL, do space missions or declare and PVP. Working towards Rebel Ace for me was a much needed break from the Grind.

-Participate in base raids. So far, I'm enjoying the improvements that have come as a result of the GCW revamp. It's one step closer to immersing players in the Star Wars universe.

There are a number of other suggestions I could post, but don't whine, baznitch and moan about how including Jedi has ruined the game on this forum. It's for those who choose and are interested in completing Force Sensitive for the additional skill mods and/or becoming a Jedi. If you hate this aspect of the game so much that you have to post about it, then you either need to take a break from the game for a bit or altogether.

Ideally (and in retrospect), if I were on the design team, I wouldn't have included Jedi in this game based on the timeline because Vader, the Emperor, Obi-Wan (now blue-glowie), Yoda and Luke are the only individuals trained/training in the Jedi arts, according to Ep. IV and V. But, I would've included it into a second SWG MMO set in the timeline of Ep. I, II and III, where Jedi are declining, but more commonplace in the Galaxy. But, I don't design games, I just play them.

Also, I find it ironic that the original author is using the Dark Jedi forum icon as he/she posts about how Jedi are ruining the game.

Just stop, we've heard it all before. Just choose your path and play it. Now, I think my BF has healed, I think I'll get back to work...
