while talking about the Crafting line unter the Jedi Trees.

I have searched the forums and have not found a definitive answer on this. Will the +5 exp bonus per block increase your actual experimentaion pts? This is how I always understood it to work.

Thanks

Negative... it works like the city bonuses in that in increases your success rate for the experimentation points that you do have.

Word on the street is that it will not stack with the city bonuses either which makes it signicantly less useful - although I am not sure how they were able to definitively prove that.

it does not stack with the bonus, yet it does add to the bouns. we will use a regular 10pt smith for math's sake...

100 + 25% research bonus = 125
force exper + 20

this works like a +145, however you still just have 10pts to work with.

here is how i found out this is true...

my artisan skill: 75
+25% RC
+20 FE

75+18.75+20 = 113.75

i was experimenting with all 7 points at one time getting amazing success. i can get a personal harv to 4ber wiht only 7 points.. it should take me 8.

The FS experimentation is great! I would say that it might even be more useful than 2 extra experimentation points!

Since I got it I have made probably 50-100 experimenations and not one moderate success or worse! I got all great success with a few more amazings. When not using bespin I think I got at least 1 amazing on every 5th experimentation.

This is in a reasearch center btw

Hehe I would like to say I may have made the very first 13 point scythe today, first 7 points were amazings

Force experiment is awesome. Very worth it. The assembly is awesome also, I have been able to increase all of my weapons dmg by 2-3 and speed by .1 making components with amazing on the assembly and amazings on the experiment. 2.1 157 max dmg scatters.

Thanks for the very informative answers. I am a ten point smith (hoping to become a 12 through the new system). The force crafting stuff still seems very worth while. Thanks for the Help

That's excellent, but let me caution people that these results probably aren't going to be the norm.

In most cases, weaponsmiths are hitting the speed/damage limits already for the resources they're using. For whatever reason, you were not, but I suspect if youwent back and tested a resource-gated component you would not be able to achieve better results...

But don't get me wrong, this FS stuff is still potentially valuable. With enough amazing successes, it amounts to a de facto extra experimentation point (enough 9% versus 7%). For the time being, though, it's still not a replacement for skill tapes and the best resources.

though it is still a must have. in the future the question won't just be are you a 12pt smith, but are you a FS crafter?

You have to make sure you get amazing success and then you will see a difference, it took me 43 scatter pistols to get those stats, but now I can make a run of 600 something of them. I just put all the scatters I made trying to get the amazing assembly/success combo on my vendor for dirt cheap.

But Kett, you're forgetting about the resource gate. Even with FS, you can't experiment a higher damage than the resources will allow. Since we generally max damage/speed on almost everything we craft, please go back and look at your stats - I suspect that either you're looking at something incorrectly, or that for some reason you weren't hitting the resource gate earlier, which at master is highly unusual.

FS skills can still act as that extra point we discussed, meaning range, HAM or condition can be improved, but damage/speed is most likely not going to be improved...

Okay when you get a amazing success on ASSEMBLY it allows you to craft higher then what the resources would usually allow, its also all in the components. you may be hitting 155 max dmg with all great success, at (forgot the actually percent) say at 76% if you get all amazing success then it can go to 78%.

/agree, especially if you want to do a lot of custom work using looted weapon components. Customers are going to want to make sure you're both a 12-point smith and that you have the FS crafting skills.

I can confirm what other have said. Since become a fs crafter, I get only "Great"s and "Amazing"s. I would still rather have the two extra points, but oh well, can't have everything.

I can also confirm the post that many times it makes no differnce. I compared a pre-force flame thrower and a post-force flame thrower, used identical components and materials. Came out excactly the same, exact numbers, across the board.

If I hadn't gotten it from my holo grind, I probably woundn't grind the force xp to get it. It isn't that great and is a pain in the butt to earn.
