Thread: Village is Combat Friendly and hates Crafters

Since day 1, crafters have been saying that SOE hates them and gives all the love to the Combatants. While I do not entirely agree with that statement....I seem to agree with it here in the village. For the combatants, they just have to go here, kill that, bring something back. Or go there, kill everything and so on. Meanwhile, crafters have to sit there and do stupid crap which makes no sense. I got to make meds to heal a NPC. Someone spent 12 hours on it this morning for the Phase 1.We got to fix an array or something. I guess it does not help it is bugged and does not work.

Combatants can go out and max out 900k Unarmed (or whatever thier prof is) and then 450k combat XP and then what else they got (melee stackers) and come back and turn in a HUGE amount of XP for FS. Meanwhile, my Master Doc and Master CM who has no combat skills and has no desire to be a jedi, but just wants 1 to 3 trees to help him be a better doc has to spend months getting all the medical XP (80k cap) to trade if for 8k at a time. The first box is 175k of FS????? And then throw in the 5k ride back and forth? This sucks.

SOE, give us crafters a break man!!!! Not all of us want to be jedi. Well, not all of us what to have more than 1 jedi. My Knight is a major Gimp. Why would I want another one. I just want a better doc and chef!!!!

Well, a Jedi IS a combat profession. Makes sense to be an easier transition from a combat prof to a combat prof.

Yeah, since day 1, the crafters were complaining that they did not have a fair chance at jedi because they could not go out and loot holocrons. This whole quest based system was suppose to elliminated that.

It didn't

sorry crafters get such a shaft.....but i can suggest to you what i did....change your professions to enable u to get FS xp faster

i know it sucks....but you do have to clear all your skills when u become jedi anyways so its not like you're ruining anything in the long run. I guess it can screw ya if u'r not going for jedi...and if that's the case then i really feel for ya...but if u are going for jedi eventually maybe switching to a tripple melee prof or something will help ya out better.

1) Why should we change our profession?

2) The conversion rate Vs the way xp is aquired Vs the xp cap is way to broken

3) As far as the crafting quest goes.... that quest is so friggen easy it's unreal. It's a simple mind puzzle, took me more time to make the items then to actually solve the puzzels. I thought they were kinda fun and a nice reprieve from the normal quests for crafters.

4) Why should we change out profession??????? Some of us actually want the crafting lines to be better crafters. Show me a way to convery Combat XP into Force Sensitive Crafting XP to get those crafting bonsuses... then I'll gladly drop architect for commado 4-0-0-0 for a few weeks.

Wait till you have to beg and buy millions of credits worth of Sith Resources to unlock and THEN have to compete for your reward in Phase II and Phase III. Start hoarding sith loot NOW! Phase 2 you need rudic and endrine, lots of it.

Did you not read what I said? I said I am not doing these to become a jedi. I am already a Jedi Knight. I just want to make my doc a better doctor and my chef and shipwrights to be better crafters. So for me to change my profs to combat ones is stupid as I cannot convert unarmed XP to crafting XP.

So Mr Smart Guy, please read everything to the fullest before posting. I new someone was going to say that. To switch profs to make the grind easier. Besides, if I have to change profs to make the FS grind easier, then you might as well bring back the old system and we can all hologrind again.

at least crafters can unlock branches unlike dancers or musicians. please dont cry... at least you dont have to grind a master profession you hate...im talking about dancers unlocking senses persuasion... i mean what the hell has a doc to do with persuasion ... i need master medic to unlock it. dancers should rather be able to unlock persuasion since it fits more to their profession.
i know that its easier for combat professions to get FS xp but at least crafters are not the worst supported profession in the village.

btw... if anyone knows in which phases i can unlock senses trees as non-medic... please tell me

You can get master medic in 4 hours. Get a doc to craft the meds you need for this lame quest and go do it. I had my master doc make 50 of each of these and I am going to sell them on my vendor. So master medics can pick up this quest and then drop it like a bad habit when they are done.

Its true crafters did get the shaft here at the villiage. The amount of FS xp is .... mind blowing. One line of FS crafter skills takes one million FS xp. As an artisan that EIGHT MILLION crafting xp. Thats nuts.

I agree about senses xp too. What on earth does curing people have to do with persuasion??? So I a master smuggler/TKM/Artisan has to what...drop my beloved professions to get persuasion because I cant heal people....puuhlease. Seems to me as a Smuggler Persuasion would be pretty handy...if for nothing else than the RP value.

Bugger it Ill just get Ranged Accuracy...after all I use that alot as a TKM, at least as much as Id use persuasion in any case hehe.

Go figure.

Slicing gives senses xp.

Ya it certainly does... 250 xp per slice, 90 resources per clamp, precision knife, item to slice... still need 1,000,000 FS xp, need 3,000,000 slicing xp for that. Thats quite a few slices right around 12,000weapon or amorslices for one FS line... dont know about you but thats a dang lot of clicking. And waiting.

If your really, really fast slicing you can do maybe 100 an hour...I doubt anyone can slice that fast that would be right around 120 hours of straight slicing. Not to mention the 1,080,000 resources needed for just the clamps.

Ya combat is the only way you can realistically do FS lines without going insane/broke/catatonic.

Anyway you slice it (hehe) its an unreasonable requirement.
