Hey, watch out for that jedi! he's going to craft you to death! nuff said
Ok get your drift a bit...but all jedi are crafters, the jedi from the movies were farmers, artisans and droid engineers...
FS isnt Jedi.

lol i cant wait till i get invest 3 so i can kill all the stupid jedis that got jedi from doc and crafting, They have no combat experiance, probably dont even know what a solo misson is they are the ones who will have novice saber in 4months once they get their act together and realize this is a very very bumby ride and you better be ready because lots of people want to kill you already.
This post isnt about becoming a Jeid Mikelpikle...its about getting crafting FS to enhance your crafting.
Now go chase a mark baby BH.

lol! if their not becomming a jedi then why are they complaining, the village is suppossed to be tough to prepare you for jedi and if your just in it for the fs skills then you should be the one in the back shutting up because we dont care about you!!!
Surveying is nullified by the hard survey cap (if you have survey 4 under the artisan tree you get no extra bonus even if you have survey 4 on the FS tree), Experimentation is nullified owing to the present mechanic where the end result is determined by the resource stats and not by the number or level of sucesses (you can get 4 critical success in one round of experimenting and hit the cap determined by the resource stats, or get 3 normals and one amazing and still hit the same cap AND not get any more points ot experiment with).
The crafting FS gives you nothing but bragging rights at the loss of some much needed skill points.
And it gives you nothing else at all - period.
If you wanted to open your 2nd character (which is why most of the crafters that I know of do it), then you are best advised to grind 2h and combat and get the 6 branchs that way. Once you have it, drop combat and go back to crafting if that is what you wish to do longterm. But honestly, doing the crafting FS is a complete and utter waste of time, effort and resources.
And yes, I have done a couple of branch openings but only to get the cool toys, and not for the boxes.
Cool toys is the only benefit IU can see that a crafter will get from the Village under the present game mechanics.
But the crafting branches? Check out the great force conversion post here and realize the TONS of resources and time the crafting branches take. The best is spice crafting, with only 42 hours and a little over a million resources per branch.

The enhancements you get from the FS boxes are essentially useless to the majority of crafters, and are often cancelled or made null through other game mechanics. This is a fact.

FS experimentation is great! Since I got it I have not had a single moderate success when experimenting. If I had to choose between my 12 pt experimentation or +20 FS Experimentation I would choose FS. When usign good Bespin (which you get filled up after 5 uses) and research city specialization I would still get frequent moderate success or below. But never with FS experimentation. This is very important when making stuff with loot components. Also important to get amazing success when having multiple lines to experiment on (SW being a good example; ws is not that important). When crafting ship components those amazings are probably worth on average one extra expereimentation point
Not sure about surveying but I think it extend range. Or you could have only survey 3 and save 5 skill points (assuming you have to spend the FS points anyway to get an extra character)
The other FS crafting skills seems not be that good. People who have assembly says they still get criticals on assembly (never get any crirticals when buffed with Pyollian). Don't really understand the tech line and if it is only lowering risk of bad success when experimenting it is useless since I already never get anything below amazing with FS experimentation.
