How long does it take you to cap your combat XP using C12's... and roughly how many do you go thru to do that?

I assume you just lob them at a lair over and over?

It takes 1.5 hours and its about 12 stacks per lair i think....yes, just lob them at the lair over and over and over and over and over and over. It is actually faster to just pick up the grenade line of Commando, but that's your call.

Yes I just started using this method. Maybe takes 2hrs for me. But still a lot better than changing your entire template to get to Commando 4-0-0-0.

And on Chimaera there are plenty of nades.

It took me about 1.5 hours to cap and from 8-12 stacks per lair depending on the grenades and powerups i used, if you can slice them too it would probably be less

definatly worth getting commando if you have more then one branch to grind fs xp for.
If you kick ass with c12's you may get 150k fs xp after the travel time and healing BF and wounds

it took me 2.5 buff sessions to pick up the commando line thats mastering marksman and everything and that would equal 350k fs xp if i was lobbing c12's

now pick up commando and you can get 300k - 400k fs xp per buff (and i've heard of people doing 500k) you can earn back the time it took you to pick up commando in like 2-3 buff sessions and if you have 3-4 branches to complete you save a ton of time. this means only 3-4 buffs per fs branch!

Interesting. I hate to butcher my template even further (was triple master TK,Smugg,Pistol then dropped spices and slices for FS skills) but it sounds like that may be what I do. I dunno.

150k Force XP every 1.5 hours isn't bad, but 400k sounds even better, I think could buy my way up to master marksman with smuggler skills, not sure how much that would cost.

Do you guys just stand by a lair with a row of c12's in your toolbar and run a macro? Lobbing grenades at a Defiler lair for 1.5 hours sounds pretty exciting.

Yup you got it - stand in the middle of the lair and macro nades from the toolbar... Than alt tab and troll these boards like us

i got frustrated with the grenades and stopped...perhaps someone can clearly state the technique...I read through the other thread and it is unclear...I took a ton of damage but the hurrtons and gasping spiders were taking damage slowly and died twice cause I could not heal myself...I had excellent composite armor on and had good buffs...I was was clearly targeting the lair. the combat queue was screwy throwing the nades...Can someone please post their non-commmando technique on this? Perhaps a macro and HOW-TO guide?

Hey all. I'm sword 0440, Pike 4024, Doc 0440, CP 1043, ER 0400. I use C12's for my combat XP left over after i max sword and pike weaps xp.Ibasically focuson huurton howler lairs andhuurton stalker lairs. The technique I use is a macro in the 2nd toolbar pane, and i place a grenadestack in boxes 05 through 11 and 15 through 23 (keeping some specials in the unused boxes), and i made a macro that hits all the boxes i listed just once. It fills up your combat queue and uses one grenade from each stack - i've found that this avoids the combat queue screwups...i've experienced them too. give that a shot, see how you like it.

I can't answer the original poster's question - i believe if you do the numbers, you actually make more FS xp in less time by maxing your available weapons xp then maxing what's left of your combat xp, while keeping overall costs to a minimum (armor, buffs, grenades, etc). That's the theory i've been working with.

I'm debating dropping what's left of pike and picking up commando 4000. not too sure though. i saw a post above that said it's worth the time...can others substantiate that claim??

What i did was do the 5100 quenker missions (do it from a solo group so more spawn). Then instead of touching the initial spawn run up and start pounding the lair with your weapon to bring out more. Then tarket the lair again and make sure you hit it again then just start throwing nade after nade till the quenkers die. You only get about 2500+ combat xp but they die faster and do like no damage to you if you are buffed and wear armor. Yes Huurtons get you more xp but take longer and they can stun etc. You get about 40k-50k combat xp per lair and takes maybe 10 mins if i remember correctly.

Thanks for the comments everyone. Looks like I'll have something to try tonight. Pitty, I was having fun being a Pilot.

But after 3 cycles, and only 3 Force boxes filled, I need an alternative to grinding TK and Pistols XP. Soundes like nades may be it.

If I remember my boxes correctly, its 60k for a novice, 150k for the 1st, 250k for the second, 350k for the third and 450k for the 4th. If I can get 50k Combat XP in 10 minutes as someone here said, thats 180 minutes, or 3 hours to get 900k Combat XP (the cap). That doesnt count running back and grabbing and grabbing a new mission or other variables.

Does 900k combat XP = 30K Force XP? So 450+350+250+150=1200. 1200/30=40. 40 Trips to max one line. 40 x 3 hours = 120 hours or, 5 days to fill a whole branch. Yuck.

It's 50k for Novice, then 175k, 250k, 350k, 450k.

And 900k Combat XP = 300k FS XP, it's 3:1.
900k Weapons XP = 30k FS XP, that's 30:1.

EDIT: Also, Combat XP caps at 300k, not 900k like Weapons XP does.
