I am just another player you see everyday in the village, and like you I see someone new everyday, grinding to become jedi. In the next few monthsabout90%of us will become jedi, (other 10% will probably leave it for WoW) my primary character is on starsider, since jedi are already running around everywhere, I can pretty much say in few months more than 35-40% of the servers population will be jedi.
My question is;Does anyone have any idea about SOEs plan to keep jedi rare? Because, they certainly arent now, and they certainly wont be in the future... I hope I can get an answer for this, because I dont see any reason to play this game, if the future is messed up as Yoda claims

not everyone wants to be a jedi. not everyone will become a jedi thats grinding right now. many will drop out because its a pain in the ass, others may just want to open up their second slot and not play a jedi. i highly doubt that 40% of the population will be jedi...

I think what you're likely to see is everyone has a jedi, but with 2 characters, not everyone will necessarily be playing that jedi all the time. After all, too much of anything, even being jedi, gets boring at times. Most jedi I know, myself included, split time fairly evenly between their jedi and non-jedi characters. Some people may get a jedi, play it for a bit, then decide they like their alt better and rarely play jedi. You never know.
Not saying this is how it should be, there will probably still be an increase in visible #s of jedi. Just no idea what could be done (realistically). The cat's out of the bag, so it's too late to revoke the whole thing- if they didn't want the game overrun with jedi, they shouldn't have made it an option.

I personally don't care if there are 10 Jedi's in the game or 10,000. I understand that the developers and a lot of players want this game to be as close to the movie as possible but the fact of the matter is, it is a game. We all play games to have fun, and if that includes a desire to be a Jedi then be a Jedi. I would love to see Vader come in and go after the Jedi. I would love to see epic battles between Jedi and Dark Jedi. To possibly see how both sides win and lose against each other would be very cool. Make it hard to remain a Jedi then maybe they can cut all this force xp grind in half. All the casual gamers out there that want to be a Jedi might never make it unless they want to dedicate the next three years of their lives to the grind. Then SOE takes a chance on losing people because of a loss of intrest or they just end up going to another game because they get tired of beating their heads a wall trying to get just a few more million force xp. Currently I am working towards Jedi, but being a casual gamer, the chances of me actually making it are slim. Everyone in the game appears to be either grinding village quests or flying in space because that is what is new. Another month or two and everyone will then be doing the next big thing.

I totally agree with that. Don't put it in the game then complain that everyone wants to do it. If that was the case, it would not be called a game, it would be called a chore.

its also irrelevent if there were 10000 jedis in the game. i tend to go with the movies, luke, vader, leia, palpy, yoda, ben, and vergre were the only force sensitives during the galactive civil war. so i dont see how there could be thousands of jedi roaming the galaxy with ease. i mean they could have been force sensitive, but since the jedi order was diminished they did not undergo any training. so i dont like to see so many jedi;s in the game. i personaly wont be becoming a jedi knight. just a force sensitive. and a padawan. thats good enough for me. to wield a lighsaber is my ultimate dream. dont care about showing it off or anything like that.

That is actually a great plan. For many players out there, being a full blown Jedi Knight may not be what they want.My point was just that it should not matter what the numbers are. There may not have been very many Jedi in the movies, but it never took into account how many people were actually force sensitive. Could have been many. I say lets all have our own story and leave the movies to Lucas to change over and over again.

I'll bet he has a great sense of humor (the improved singing scene in Jabba's Palace). I don't hate his ideas, I struggle with some of the "improvements" he has made with the original movies. George, if I have offended you I am sorry. Please to burn up Galaxies on account of me. Now I am off to Endor to kill some more Ewoks.

I agree with several other posts. Many, Many of those people will give up, I know that 3-4 of the 10 or so have given it up in the first couple phases. I don't know about others, but I went straight towards jedi as a noob. There is so much that I haven't done in the game, that I'll be spending plenty of time on my alt.
You can't avoid it though. People don't actually want Jedi made worse, or harder I don't think. You can't make money by refusing people the chance to become a jedi. I pay money each month for that. If I didn't like Star Wars, and the chance to becomea jedi so much, I'd be in EQ2. I do agree that we don't want to see everyone one running around as jedi. I think it's really backwards for a few jedi to say that they think that the jedi population should be limited, but not limited to them.
*note. I'm not saying that stated that.

Are you NUTS?! I can tell you off the top of my head like 20 guys that have quit the grind, Lets face it ....
-If you had Free Unlocks, then most will come jedi
-If you didnt have Free Unlocks, Then most will not become jedi (7.2 Million Force Sen XP IS ALOT!!) <--- Most will not grind 7.2 million FS XP so there for Yes, at beginning you will see alot become jedi but thats all the holo grinders who diserve jedi anyways!!, once that phase is over and only thing left are People who had to start from the beginning, you will see a lot less jedi , and that will balance it out , Just wait and see ![]()

I think it depends on how you look at it. If you see Jedi as the "I won the game then you will be greatly dissapointed" I see this as a fun game to hang out with people I like, role play a little bit and work on my jedi. I know people who that is all they are doing is griding grinding grinding and that is kewl. Si I sit there Image design talk to people till I max out go do a little surveying or scouting on my way to the village and convert my points. You got to find a way to make it fun. Otherwise whats the point. To many people think its a game that you can win by getting Jedi.
Oh for the record I really just want padawan cause i only want a lightsaber
