Hello all,

This is something I have been mulling over posting for a long time. Force sensitive skills are something that were added to the game to enhance our characters template, give it that little something extra. But the currently act more like a crutch making us dropthe line of scout that gives us terro nag or novice medic to heal.As I see it there is absolutely no reason for them to have a skill point requirement. The arguement could be made that if the boxes had no cost then someone could master all the skills. So what, the skill boxes in no way make you uber. If someone wants to wait the 48 weeks to unlock all of the branches and the countless hours of playing to get the xp to fill them, I say let them. Truth be told only a certain number of skills are usefull to each character so people will only fill the boxes they want. This would go along way towards free the swordsman/doctors who want to dabble in scout or the jedi who wants on morebranch in his dream template. Not to mention that it would make the force sensitive skills seem like the bonus they are designed to be.

I know these petitions seem useless but they serve in getting our ideas to our reps, and thru them the devs.

48 weeks? Where did you get that number?

Oh, and also, you seem to be overlooking the simple reason: It's a free second character. Without using the skill points, you could unlock the second character without any consequences to the first. With the FS branches having SP, it drives away the people that have no interest in Jedi and just want two characters, because with 24 SP used up on your main, it's gonna end up being a gimped version of what it was, thus compelling you to become a Jedi, and use alt for the normal profs.

Basically FS-SP=BAD

First of all the 48 weeks number came from an average of 3 weeks per phase of the village times by 4 for each branch and times by 4 again for each discipline. 3*4*4=48. Secondly why do we wnt to drive away a person who wants to play two characters without using a jedi. I think anyone who takes the time to do the village, the exit quest and the padawan trials deserves the second toon. You have actually further proved my point as you said that your character ends up gimped. He shouldn't, the force sensitive skills are designed to enhance a character you have, which they currently do not.my question to you is why should everyone have to play a jedi? and why can a normal player not have two toons?

I was with you on the 3 weeks per phase. With 6 novice boxes needed, you are talking a minumumn 18 weeks provided you have all your fs xp by the time you open your 6th box. A little over 4 months not almost a year. With the grenades conversation going around, I feel pretty sure that this may be possible. However, not commonplace.

Witht he CU, the SP crunch gets tighter. However I can see the point behind controlling the points that are used. There comes a point in a Jedi's "life" that he either has to commit orremain pretty much useless. One thing that remains true no matter how we try to make it look is that the Village requires a sacrifice (oh boy!) in order to reap the benefits. It really isnt for those who want to dabble. So although anyone can go ahead and get "glowie" and get those skills, by the time you do, you may as well go on ahead and finish the whole grind.

Plus, if the fs skills really made you uber, then:

All the stackers and elite would have to get it which would impact pvp even more

The price of grenades would go through the roof (lol)

N00b's would complain that they couldnt afford the grenades to get the fs skills in 4 days spurring SOE to start them off with 8,000,000 credits

"Jedi Population" brains would say there are too many force sensitive Teras Kasi

Everyone one (besides the 90 percent of the pop. who are there already )would be at the village

No flames at all bud. Just saying that, most Jedi chasers realize that they have to give up certain things in the game in order to gain other things that they want.

Sixteen branches, three weeks per branch. Sixteen times three is forty-eight. Technically, it would only be forty-five since you don't have to wait that last period before unlocking the branch, but that's an honest mistake.

I also disagree with this petition. Why should you get bonuses for free? The skill points cap is in place for a reason: it forces you to choose how you want to play. If you want that novice scout box, then you have to be willing to sacrifice fifteen skill points from other places to get it. Maybe they come from Doctor, or maybe they come from FS skills. It all depends on how you choose to play.
