I sit here now, about h alfway through my force sensitive journey, and I'm finding myself annoyed as hell. In every other game in the world, including this one with holo-grinding, getting stronger was always something attained by hard work in a game, why is it then, that hard work is not rewarded in the fields of force sensitive?
You see, since around the end of my first phase, I've had all necessary FS exp to become a jedi, I have done allthe hardwork yet I will not see the payout for my work for another 2 months. I'm thinking there should be SOME way for people who put in a lot of work to get through this quicker, maybe if you were able to cash in 1 million force sensitive exp to be able to start a new quest of the same phase.
Honestly this is the way it looks to me, SOE exec thinks "hmm, gamers are going to blow through jedi and get bored of this game in 2 months, and that is no good for business" SOE exec #2 exclaims, "Wait, I've got it! We'll makeEVERYONE who want to play the end-game content have to WAIT through at least 5 billing subscriptions"
I dunno, I'm looking for another answer becauseto be honest it just seems like a gimmick to get subscription fees.
PS: I'll save the SOE suck-ups the trouble since I'm looking for an actual answer.
If yu downt like it, lEAVE!!1111oneone

Patience youngling. This is all part of your training. You must learn patience.

Yup, it's all about the money.
Not that I mind it though. With how quickly people banked the xp during the 4X bonus periods and with the CU levels of xp, to be able to get a jedi just by taking a sick day or a long weekend just isn't right in my opinion. The fact you're a vet is a different story but imagine the kid off for the summer creating a account and having a jedi in a week. ![]()

the approx 3 week phase time enables a casual player the same oppertunity to unlock the FS skill branches (and experience the game content) as the power gamer. The power gamer has the advatage in the XP grind . . . but the availability of the game content iseven.
If this were the case, they could merely put a daily (or weekly, or whatever) cap on FS XP. This solution would have been MUCH easier for the developers.
No, this is clearly a way to keep the $15 coming.

I guess the main problem I haveis that in MMO's, I usually have a goal I'm working toward, the next level, the best gun, whatever, but there is always an attainable goal, and if you work hard enough you'll get it. Apparently not with becoming a jedi, no matter how hard I train, or work at it I can'tbring him closer to being a jedi,
I pretty much just wander around the game aimlessly, I'm running real low on quests from RotW at this point, got maybe til friday til I've done everything on that planet, and I'm guessing I'll just stop playing for a couple month for everything except phases, it kind of sucks because I like this game, but I'm just getting bored of it, and I'm ready for the end-game content.
It's almost like the difference between skateboarding, and working. If I skateboard a lot, I get better, but no matter how hard I work, I'm only going to get an evaluation for a raise once every 3 months. It makes the game more like work then a hobby in my opinion.

If you are doing unlocking the phases and grinding the exp you ARE getting closer.. just at a slower pace then you are used to.

Then why do you play? This is what I NEVER understand... players whine and whine about the game not fitting their needs enough for them, yet here you still are... playing the game! Honestly if it's such a "job" why do you keep doing it?

Well think about this.. If you had no patience for learning new tricks, or perfecting those tricks, where would you be with skateboarding? Everything is based around hard work and patience, not one or the other. This game just takes the patience part to a whole new level..
They try to make this 'World like' so you can choose what role you want to play in the galaxie. If you want to be a fighter, you have to go and killthings and gain the experience of fighting. If you want to craft things, you have to find your resources and craft to get a better knowledge of how to make better things. The same principals apply for Jedi. Seeings they are trying to make this "real" you have to train like a "real" jedi would. If you've seen the movies you know that patience is one of the biggest things they must learn, not just how to swing a lightsaber aroundand dismember people/things.
If you don't like how they've done this then its obvious that your not a 'true' star wars fan other wise you would see the connection they are trying to make and appriciate the game that much more. I totally understand your irriation with the game, I get sick of the traveling, non stop grinding and theLOONG phase's. But if you remember from the movie, Luke didn't exactly fall in love with his training the first time either.. If you see it as a waste of money, then it probably is, but if you see it for what is was designed to be and appreciate it, it willall worth it in the end.

Uh, apparently you've never skateboarded, because sitting around and not skateboarding for 2 months won't magically help you learn new tricks
. I especially like the analogy that if I don't like the way that they did it I'm not a true star wars fan...lol first off, I never claimed to be some die-hard star wars fan who sits in his room spanking it to his perfect condition in the box han solo doll
.

Now, if you take the time to re-read the original post, you'll see I have no problem with training, it is the LACK of training that I hate, the fact that I can do nothing to better my character.
They didn't do it for immersion purposes at all, they did it to milk subscription fees, and they sure are doing a good job.

Ok, so patience isn't a part of your training huh? You never get disappointed or pissed off and wanna chuck your board across the skatepark? What keeps you going back? The will to get better and the love of the sport, right? You can't tell me patience has nothing to do with it. I also didn't say only patience will make you better, I just said it was part of it. If i remember correctly I said "Everything is based around hard work and patience". You worked hard to get your character to the lvl your at, now you learn the patience.
I never said you were a die hard fan either. I just made a comment that it would be obvious if you weren't, and as we can see..... your not. Fine, thats great. You don't need to be. But realise this game wasn't madefor everyone. It was made with Star Wars in mind and they built the stories and the way things work around that. If you want to be the most powerful character in the game, you have to work for it and you have to have the patience to be a jedi. In a way they are turning you into a jedi in, and out of the game (kind of lame but its true). Yes, it doesn't make perfect sense why it takes so long. They could atleast have missions that take the long 3 weeksto make it worth it, but hey, im not a game coder and neither are any of us..
As said before, you are infact working your way to a Jedi. Your doing the phase missions aren't you? Your grinding the FS XP aren't you? Sure, theres nothing you can do to make it go faster, but slowly, you are becoming a Jedi.
If you're so hell bent on the fact that they are just milking you for your money for all this time you need to spend, then why don't you quit? Why don't you spend that money on the skateparks and do something to better yourself, seeings thats what your so worried about. Orr, find something else in the game to do..
I didn't respond to this thread to flame, I came to kind of justify their reasons. Of course I can't make things right, and I can't make you feel the same as myself, but this is the game, and this is why it is. If you don't like it, try something else.. Kill time and see if they change the way it works.. I doubt it will ever happen but its all you can do really.

Because this is a MMORPG and shouldn't be beat overnight. Some things in the game should take time no matter HOW hard or how much you play. Good things come to those who wait.
