First let me apologize for the multiple post earlier. I'm not sure what happened but it was an accident. I certainly would never offend anyone or cause drama here. I lean very heavily on this board for advice from other players. Thanks.
Now here's my first impression of the Village at Aurillia Phase 4 melee quest from a new player's perspective. And maybe some advice to pass along to other new players about template etc.
I figured to be doing most of, actually all ofmy quests alone. So I thought a good template would be master doctor/ master swordsman. This was not the case as i found out tonight. It's great for most PvE up to this point but I fell flat on my face here. The main reasonswere ranged & melee defense. In many cases where my healing compensates for my defense I found that even buffed my defenses were still too low to really tank effectively. So I would suggest not trying to re-invent the wheel by using a quirky template or trying to devise your own. I'm sure most of the guys here did that at some point and that's why they suggest mastering a defensive art like Fencer or TKA. I saw people with master fencer and TKA titles using the same type of weapons I was using and effectively tanking the mobs I couldn't handle. So this leads me tothink they mastered a defensive and chose an offensive class for damage. Which It will be very hard for me to do by the end of the cycle in about 10 days.
It also hurt not having any ranged damage abilities. So I'd suggest having something you can use to stop the fleeing mobs at range if you need a quick switch. Because they will run away from you and even out of the village and often into more trouble. I had a few mobs run completely out of ramge before I could finish them and in the frenzy lost them and never got credit for the kill.
I would suggest bringing a group of in-game friends that you play with on a regular basis. Unfortunately I don't have that on Bria and will struggle to finish the quest by Phase end and may be forced to unlock only simple branches that i can't really use just to get 6 unlocks. But try and bring folks that know your play style because even the most talented pickup group I was in last night was still very disorganzed with everyone running everywhere and attacking the first thing they saw.
Overall it was harder for me than I expected. I've been able to solo multiple Tusken Chiefs, Banthas and other red mobs around my tatooine home but nothing really prepared me for the jump to these guys. So unless you have a group or a good defensive based template expect some frustration.
I'd also suggest heading there during prime play hours on your server. Trying to even get into the village can be a slaughterhouse if it hasn't been cleared.
The final body count for my late evening first attemp was 4 dead Shadows, 3 dead Pirates and 3 deaths for me, 2of which came trying to get reset and back to my pick-up group after my first death. Many mobs here use ranged weapons and it's often hard to tell in a full spawn exactly where you are being attacked from.
Good luck guys and I hope this little bit of my experience passed along can perhaps help someone else not make the same mistakes I have.

You don't have to kill each pirate or outlaw. You only need to get in a hit on them before they are killed. You will then get full credit when they are killed. Join a large group at the village, stick close to them. Get at least one hit in on each sith, and let the tankers handle the load of putting them out of their misery. Just a suggestion.

Do you have mind buffs, brandy, and canape? I'm a doc /swordsman and with those three things plus knowledge of my professions, the only time I've died has been when my mind buffs ran out.

I did this Phase in a small group...2 other players. I am Master Swords, TKA 4/0/0/0, Medic3/4/4/0 and that is the only combat skill I have due to merchant skills.
First off, I always use 2 brandy and a couple of Ahrisa so I can take mind hits and spam special attacks all day. Also, I finally found out that you only need to wear a comp helmet, chest plate, gloves and boots. The rest of your body parts don't really take hits. The reduced encumbrance really help regen your HAM bar.
There are two ways you can do this...large group, or solo.
If you get in a large group, and a Doctor can rez you, just back to back with your group and spam area attacks on the mobs...you will take a bunch of damage if aggroed, and maybe you will die, but you will stack up kills fast as the group finishes the mobs you hit. A good tip here is to get to the village before the attack, and pull your speeder out and park it where you can get to it easily. The Sith don't attack the speeder like NS or Force Wielders, so you can hop on it for a quick escape.
Or..if you are like me...I prefer strategy.
The key to this method, evenif you wish to do it solo or in a small or large group (doesn't matter) is to be very smart about picking your shots. I try to get to the Village between spawns, and I will sit on the outskirts of the Village, and not north of either entrance, because the Sith spawn in line with the entrances and you will have mobs on you very fast.....
The key is to let them spawn and they will automatically head to the village. They spawn in small bunches and spread out as they aggro players. Since the Sith never spawn very far out of line with the entrances, you can safely kite one or two out at a time and pound on them at your leisure.
I usually park my speeder, walk toward the Village, and look for a lone red dot on the outskirts. I fire a few normal shots on the Sith, and he will aggro. I then start throwing Intimidate and run back to my speeder. By the time I get back, I have one Intimidated Sith and a Powerhammer to bash his mind bar with. There are so many Sith, you can kill your 50 and 25 in about 2 to 3 waves. The Pirates and Outlaws are no problem for me in packs of 3-5, as long as I have them at melee range. The Thugs I give a little more respect to, and kite one at a time with the above method.

There are an awful lot of variables, you can't tell just by watching someone else fight what kind of factors are swaying the outcome of that fight. Those other fighters, did they have hidden defense stacker templates, such as fencer or pistoleer? Did they already have FS ranged or melee defense? What is their composite armour rated at? What is yours? Do they have defensive or offensive skill tapes in their armour/clothes? Are they wearing BE clothes? Are you? Did they take all the right foods along with their doctor and entertainer buffs? Are they just very experienced with their combat profession and know what specials to use to be most effective against a given enemy?
Seems to me your template is just fine, having Master Doc in your pocket is powerful stuff, and a Swordsman can deal a truckload of damage, even if there's not as much damage mitigation as some other professions. Also, as was pointed out, don't try to kill them all by yourself (if indeed that's what you're trying to do), just get the hit in and move on. As for them running off, well that happens -- if the mob only has one hit left to kill, then give chase and use a lunge attack, others are counting on that kill for their credit too, otherwise let it go and hope whensomeone else finishes it off it's within range.

This phase was my second unlock. While I do have one of those tankable templates (TKM/MSword/MBrawl), the real key is to play to your strengths.
Some tips for you:
* As you've already been told, you just need to tap a pirate/outlaw for it to count. You can tell if you've tapped one or not by whether its name appears red or yellow to you (yellow = untapped, red = tapped). Once they're red (and you're sure you got a hit in), move on.
* Lunge is your friend here. Reach out and touch a pirate/outlaw at up to 20m. Do it a couple times even, make sure you make contact. Move on afterwards.
* Always, always, always run a Center of Being macro. Period.
* Intimidate everything. Start with the things that aggro you, or intim the ones that someone else is tanking if you're currently not aggro'd. If you can apply other states with relative ease, go for it. My experience was that getting anything other than intim to stick to a thug was next to impossible.
* Get a full set of doc & entertainer buffs. Keep brandy/muon handy for emergencies or topping off. Don't fill yourself up with food buffs. Keep synthsteak handy if something starts shredding you.
* Make sure you've got a full suit of good composite. You could probably get away with something as low as 70% kin/energy, but I'd recommend having something that does 80% in both. Make sure your armor isn't about to fall apart before you even leave for Dathomir.
* If you have one available to you, use an anti-decay kit on a high energy resist PSG. This will help decrease the damage from random thugs shooting at you. With a PSG, you don't have to feel bad about destroying it afterwards to reclaim the ADK.
* You don't need a group of close friends. A group of random strangers willing to work together will be just fine. These groups will typically include or be coordinated by medics/doctors working on the healing quest. Be sure to chat with them a bit before the spawn (if possible) and find out what everyone can do.
* Don't try to tank thugs. If you've got one or more on you, ask for help. Or run into a hut and hide out for a minute. The exception is if you see the doc doing most of the group heals/resurrections running from a thug - taunt the thug and lead him back to your tanks.
That's all I can think of at the moment. Good luck to you!

I found the best thing to do is have a small group anywhere from 4-10 sit on the south side of thevillage next to the spawn area and they usually spawn 3 at a time and can take them down easily with your group. I was a tkm with fs defense skills and could solo a sith thug pretty easily only using brandy and canape. The key is to hit and run. I got all the pirates and outlaws i needed in 1 wave. i would not stay and help kill a sith unless i saw that someone needed help.
If you stay inside the base you will have sith's come from all different directions and have you surrounded which can get pretty ugly at times. Its much easier to have a group sit at a spawn south or north of the village. I would not try it alone cause you will get swamped quick and most likely die.

You got 25 pirates in one wave? I've been through maybe four of five waves in the last few days, and I've never seen more than five or six pirates in any one single wave.
That being said, it is a good strategy, but if you're grouped sometimes being in the village can be helpful, too, because then you have a point of retreat to the center hut. Yes, Sith do make it in there now and then, but you're still taking on one instead of five. I've stayed in there for as long as 25 minutes during an attack, but you will get aggroed and you will get sick of the fight music after about ten minutes.
If you feel you must be in the village for one reason or another, don't stay in the center by the hut, but do remember you can use it as a point of retreat when things get hairy. Getting there can be a trick, though.
Also, go for the mind of whatever mob is targeted by your group. Having a couple of swordsmen and even one rifleman can make all the difference as they can do tremendous damage to the mind. As a TKA, it was my job to draw aggro from the target when I could and make sure they always had Intimidate on them--it cuts their damage output by 50%. If your group has the ability, use dizzy and knockdown to cause them to not be able to stand. Remember, you don't need to kill them personally, but know your role and score just one hit to get credit for the kill.
...and watch out for the 2500 damage shots from Sith using blasters laying down fire from a distance. Yowch. Glad I used one of my free unlocks on ranged defense after getting hit by those a couple of times.

If I read the original correctly he was not in a group.
doing this solo means you ahve to kill all 75.
Joining a group means you onlyhave to hit each one of the 75 one single time.
Hit it once and then "MOVE ALONG" to thenext. You get credit when the character finally dies.

I never grouped to complete it.
I just used unarmed lunge on everything in the village then did feign death.
Within about 10 minutes i'd gotten the crdit for all my outlaws and about 10 pirates.
Waited till next spawn invasion and did the same, only this time i just ran around looking for pirates.
feigned and waited, after about 20 mins the pirates were killed by others and i got my credit for them.
Mission completed and i think i killed all of about 2 outlaws completely

I'm a Padawan now, but...........
WHen i did the phase 4 quest, both times, i was a master doc/swordsman. I had absolutely no trouble whatsoever other than the occasional oh crap! and took off to recover for min only to come back and kick more butt. If you're properly buffed, armor, using good foood/drink, tap each thing once, and move on and help your buddies kill the thugs, you'll be fine.

First time I did phase 4 it took two waves to get the 75 .
2nd time was bugged
Why not group and help others with weaker combat skills?
