Thread: The Village Phase 4. A noob's first impression.

You got 25 pirates in one wave? I've been through maybe four of five waves in the last few days, and I've never seen more than five or six pirates in any one single wave.
To get lots of pirates you need to be at one of the spawns, they are always prime targets and rarely do they make it into the village untill way late in the spawn cycle. Ranged profs have it a little easier, they can sit at 64m and wait till they see a pirate spawn and then shoot it to get its attention, letting the thugs run into the village unchallanged. That is probably why you only see 6 or so pirates if you stay in the village.
Last night around 10pm I saw a ton of pirates, too bad I already did the phase4 ranged speed quest and can only help friends do this phase. Maybe I will see that CSR and the line tonight. With SS2, getting 25 pirates is cake.

As shown in my signature I am a TKM, Master Marksman, Explorer (Scout 4/-/-/-), Medic 2/2/4/- and Grenadier (Commando 1/-/-/-) and I did this quest with not too much trouble. I went to the village and completed this quest in 2 buffs. Died about an hour into the first buff so I had to rebuff. I completed the quest with about an hour remaining on my second buff.
The post earlier stating only boots, chest plate, gloves and helm is a great thing to keep in mind. I was advised of this lesser armor suggestion a while ago and I have stuck to it ever since. The less armor, the less encumbrance, the less it hurts your mind to do specials. A Mind Buff is also Highly Recommended as well as Brandy and Canape or the other mentioned Focus and Willpower enhancing food that starts with an A.
Joining into a group with other Melee Defense questers is a great idea or bring friends to help. Group with as many people doing this quest as you can because, as mentioned, all you have to do is hit the Sith once and you get credit for that Sith regardless of who in your group kills the Sith, just like in space.
When I did it we hung out at the South Gate by where Whip is and waited for the Sith to spawn. They spawn about 30m outside of the South Gate between 2 small hills and they continue to spawn for a while in that spot. Mostly outlaws but some pirates and one time they spawned to start the attack there were a ton of pirates. So I think the amount of Outlaws and Pirates that spawn is random. They also spawn outside of the North Gate however we did it at the South Gate every time and it worked well.
Only time I had problems was if we went into the village (which I recommend avoiding at all costs. Better to try and draw them out of the village and kill them outside of the village.) and more than 2 Thugs along with a few Outlaws started to blast on me all at once. That was the only time I had problems with this quest, hence my dying one time. The armor I used was some high layered composite armor, stats are Kinetic, Energy and Electricity Effectiveness of 80% for all 3 and 76% base Resistence for the other types of damage.
So, great armor (Boots, Chest Plate, Gloves, and Helm only), good doc and mind buffs, brandy and Canape, grouped with as many people as possibleand a solid Elite Melee or Ranged profession and you shouldn't have too many problems. I didn't anyway.
I even went back to the village a couple of days after I had completed this quest and unlocked the branch, to help a fellow guild mate complete it for her unlock. And most of the time I just soloed the Thugs, 1 at a time, so they would stay off of the rest of the group. No dying and very few problems. Again, only when I had more than 1 Thug on me at a time and a few Outlaws blastin me too. Otherwise it wasn't too hard. I found the Capture the Commander quest for Melee Accuracy during Phase 3 harder than this one.
Good luck with it.
Regards,

BH and Jedi all probably do have FD
Most low level jedi have fd, but i have only seen one bh use it against a jedi knight in which he dbed later.
DragonSnack wrote:If I read the original correctly he was not in a group.doing this solo means you ahve to kill all 75.Joining a group means you onlyhave to hit each one of the 75 one single time.Hit it once and then "MOVE ALONG" to the next. You get credit when the character finally dies.
I understand how the system works, my comment was that I'd never seen 25 pirates in a single wave like the author implied. Yes, you can register hits on everyone, but the fact still remains that if there aren't 25 pirates in a wave you can't get 25 hit credits.
