Well, I hope they're happy because their game is about to crash. They left the exp too high for too long. Players expect the same exp they got a year ago, and now they just killed it. They just completely obliterated everyone's desire to group, and also smashed down their mighty nerf bats on the casual gamers, who will now take one look at exp requirements and exp gains and throw their SWG disks in the garbage and burn it. Us veteran players who have been with the game since the beginning were crying enough over the complete revamps to the game, and now THIS?!? This is an outrage, we need to start a petition to fix exp back to the way it was.

The cancellations over this will be worse than The C/U. I can guarantee it.

Everyone in this game has asked for less grind and more challenge and SOE just did the exact opposite of what was asked. My guess is that less than 5% of the population is going to be happy with this change.

Basically it pertains to everyone who understands that more grind does not equal more challenge. There is no challenge in grind. Grind is boring, if it were challenging, it would be fun.

Boring does NOT equal Challenging. it equals BORING.

Grind equals BORING.

Therefore Grind does NOT equal Challenging.

A little use of hyperbole there.

The same XP they got a year ago? That would mean that XP would be directly related to damage dealt which is comparable XP to what we have under these "new" rules.

The "full XP for one hit" bonanza onlt came in post-CU. And it never made sense, however much "fun" it was. There's no reason to expect full xp for killing something in a group when the xp given is based around soloing that something. More people killing that thing is a lot less risky and much quicker than soloing and a reduction of xp given is totally appropriate.

Most veteran players who had issues with the CU have gradually warmed to it, and petitions have never been effective in getting changes made.

Instead of whining "it's an outrage" why not come up with some reasonable alternative and post that. At least that has some chance of getting something done.

The problem I have with this is that they do not listen. Be nice and civil, or scream our heads off, They do not listen, so what difference does it make?

Have you checked out the Test Center threads recently? Even the T.C. People who are normally GUNG-HO about the game are fed up. THey're tired of having the work they do for free be ignored by this dev. team.

See, they did this to EQ2 as well, the difference is that SW:G's playerbase has been screwed over for 2 years now, and everyone, even the new people, are so sick of it that their tolerance levels have reached their limits.

Now you add into the mix a Flippant CSR like Tiggs with a piss poor attitude, and of course this is to be expected, this and a lot more.

SOE is dealing with a time-bomb here. They have an extremely bad habit of taking the quick and easy route (Which always means more grind and less fun for the player.) and it's just not working anymore.

2 years now, 2 YEARS of UN-FUN, EVERY DAY GRINDING for the casual gamer to go from non-jedi to half template Jedi (2) years.

Quite simply there's not enough stuff to do in this game to last a casual gamer 6 months before they either think about Jedi or quitting. And after this You can bet that there will be a lot of quitting going on.

And if you think it's cool, let them leave, then Keep your butt out of these forums when all your buddies are gone and you've got NO ONE to group with anymore.

As it is servers are woefully underpopulated in most cases. Player Cities look like graveyards, and all but Mos Eisley, Coronet, and Dantooine's MO look much the same way.

They could have done a lot more creative things to make Jedi more of a challenge, there were LOTS and LOTS of ideas that were floated around. TONS.. GOOD ideas that could have worked much better than this fiasco we're left with.

But did they listen? .....

Actually they have been known to listen to well-reasoned, civil, calmly expressed suggestions on occasion. Vitriol and diatribes on the other hand...

I don't consider Test Center threads to be particularly valuable. I've been on TC plenty and most people there seem to forget or not care just what a TEST CENTER is for. Namely to test the new stuff being implemented. Instead many seem to treat TC as just another Live server with slightly different code.

It still never made sense to get full xp for one hit when you get no more xp for soloing the same critter doing all the damage yourself. If you don't do all the damage yourself you have no good reason to expect full xp as if you did.

Guess this is one way the solo groups will be back. Already I have seen people doing them and from my understanding that is what they were trying to prevent. Not sure what else they can nerf at this point but I am sure they will find something. Soe loves to swing the nerf bat since the begining of this game and it keeps swinging. Instead of nerfing everything balance it.

Well and it doesn't make sense that this game's loot is the worst out of any and all other MMORPG's currently on the market, including some of SOE's other titles as well.

The whole purpose of the C.U. no longer makes sense as their reasons for creating it were to fix XP issues. At least that's what they told the players at the time.

It doesn't make sense that they would promise smugglers a revamp for 2 years and then hand them a jar of vaseline and say "Bend Over."

There is not a lot of what they have done that makes sense. But one thing is absolutely for sure. The GRIND is boring. Hell Even WoW customers are tired of the grind, (though I hear they have AWESOME customer service.)

SOE is using GRIND to replace Content, challenge, and fun. But make no mistake about it, GRIND contains 0 content, 0 challenge, and 0 fun.

A MONKEY can be trained to grind XP in this game. a 5 year old KID can do it. How is that a CHALLENGE? It might be fun for the monkey or the 5 year old. But anyone who is 12 years or older isn't going to find the GRIND fun. At least not when they are the ones subjected to it. (thus barring all finished template characters and full template jedi from rebutting.)

No, not much makes sense in this game, not much ever did. The only thing these developers have succeeded at is creating a good crafting system, when they can manage to keep it working that is.

The issue of loot I'm not going to argue. Loot is largely crap I agree.

As for the purpose of the CU, it wasn't to fix XP it was the homogeneous templates out there.

Pretty much everyone was some combo of TKM/Rifleman/Doctor/Combat Medic, etc. EVERYONE wore composite armor.

With the new combat roles and changes to the professions there's a lot more variation in people's templates now. The imbalance in BH numbers is wholy due to people using the respec to try and get in on the Jedi hunt bandwagon. Many of them have left the profession now finding it unfulfiling.

The new XP system makes a lot more sense even if it is somewhat less fun on some levels. At least now there is a bonus for grouping. Pre-CU we had a similar system without any bonus. You dealt out 1/8 the damage? You got 1/8 the XP.
