The issue of loot I'm not going to argue. Loot is largely crap I agree.

As for the purpose of the CU, it wasn't to fix XP it was the homogeneous templates out there.

Pretty much everyone was some combo of TKM/Rifleman/Doctor/Combat Medic, etc. EVERYONE wore composite armor.

With the new combat roles and changes to the professions there's a lot more variation in people's templates now. The imbalance in BH numbers is wholy due to people using the respec to try and get in on the Jedi hunt bandwagon. Many of them have left the profession now finding it unfulfiling.

The new XP system makes a lot more sense even if it is somewhat less fun on some levels. At least now there is a bonus for grouping. Pre-CU we had a similar system without any bonus. You dealt out 1/8 the damage? You got 1/8 the XP.

Well I think the XP situation works in other games because in other games it's more about the journey and less about the end content.

SW:G just isn't setup like that. Another issue is the fact that they handed this gigantic game-wide-affects-everyone nerf, and yet didn't slip in something cool and fun to help ease the pain... You know, something like.. Fixing the loot tables? Increasing the loot drop rates for people who aren't BH's? stuff like that.

It's the way they did it, it's the fact that they did it at all without considering other ideas and options first. 2 years of going one way, then another, it's killing the community in this game.

They could have lowered it by half, changed the visibility rules here and there for Jedi, and done something with the loot tables (which have needed an overhaul for a good long time now.) I mean, anything other than they did.

And to top it off. We then Get tiggs coming in and talking down to everyone in the forums, and everyone in chat. Like she's the Sh$t working a 12 dollar an hour Job as the flunky for SW:G.

They screwed up. they did too much, too fast, without greasing up the playerbase first so it would slide down easier. Know what I mean?

Pre-CU XP was based on how much damage you did. Aslo Pre-Cu I could earn 120k of FS Combat XP in about 40 mins times, solo at the Jinda caves.

But now they're complaining.

SWG is not set up any differently, it's just that many of the players are more focused on the end game instead of the journey. The biggest joke on them is that there is no end game. The game continues despite them "completing" everything. Maybe it's the setting of the game that causes it.

Pre CU I could get 10k creditdoc buffs plus full mind buffs, put my 70 base comp suit on, head to dant and walk into the middle ofa few quenker lairs and easily get tons of xp in 2 hours. Solo. Post CU you needed to group to get xp efficiently. And now that it's been borked, well let's just say soloing isn't the same post CU. So I would have to disagree with you on this xp system being similar.

Soloing has changed post-CU definitely, you can't walk around killing everything at will anymore. Now you have to actually think about what and how you kill stuff. Pre-CU doctor buffs and 70+ composite armor was most of the reason people complained there was no content. There's plenty of content. It's just that we were all powered out of balance with said content.

I got my alternate all the way to level 63 almost entirely solo post-CU, and without respecing. And in around a month too while still playing some on my main and enduring the numerous and lengthy server outages immediately after the CU went live. And having a life outside of the game at the same time. BTW my alt started post-CU.

Can you solo effectively? Most definitely.

Is the XP per critter markedly different now than pre-CU? No. The matter of what, how, and how fast you solo stuff is a seperate issue. The XP PER MOB is not markedly different.

In a group of 5 you will do roughly 20% of the damage to kill that critter that you would solo. Pre-CU you'd get 20% of the XP for doing 20% of the damage, now you get 20% plus a small bonus for grouping. It's not that different when you look at it. The main difference is that the old system based it on percentage of damage dealt, and the new system simply bases it on group numbers.

We have no reason to expect full XP for just getting in one hit on a MOB. Were that the case, should we not get MORE than full XP for doing more damage to that MOB?

I never complain about this game been playing for 2 years now....but it's time to complain.

Why would they do this? Well stupid me...I should know better to ask this question.

An easy fix to to LvL to fast would have been granting XP on a sliding scale in a group.

LvL 80=100%+ group bonus.

LvL 40= 50% of what a LvL 80 gets + group bonus

LvL 1 = 1% of what a LvL 80 gets+ Group bonus

So the numbers would work like this

LvL 80 = 7000

lvl 40 = 3500

and so on and so on

Well, I hope they're happy because their game is about to crash. They left the exp too high for too long. Players expect the same exp they got a year ago, and now they just killed it. They just completely obliterated everyone's desire to group, and also smashed down their mighty nerf bats on the casual gamers, who will now take one look at exp requirements and exp gains and throw their SWG disks in the garbage and burn it. Us veteran players who have been with the game since the beginning were crying enough over the complete revamps to the game, and now THIS?!? This is an outrage, we need to start a petition to fix exp back to the way it was.

The cancellations over this will be worse than The C/U. I can guarantee it.

Everyone in this game has asked for less grind and more challenge and SOE just did the exact opposite of what was asked. My guess is that less than 5% of the population is going to be happy with this change.

And that 5% will be people with complete templates that enjoy watching their peers suffer through a boring grind.

Seriously folks, is everyone just pizzed about this? I can't imagine that it will hurt me that much, although I am still bumbling my way through force sensitiveness, did anyone imagine that they are not casting the whole advancement process into stone? I fully expect that the xp gain process will, as everything in this game, evolve over time. Couldn't you imagine some sort of earnable xp boost? Do you have your class specific entertainer buffs yet? Have Rangers been honored yet? Come on folks, chill out.

I realized just now, having been one of those dang quick-to-post types, that they are going back. I didn't really notice myself. Wish this did something for Dancing XP (or does it?)
