I dont know why.. and believe me.. I really want to do the phae 3 combat mission... but reading up on it... is making me think otherwise... It seems crazy hard, and not to mention.... long.. seek, destroy, and then a escort... while attackers are around... then i hear you can do it solo, or with one other person...? hmmmm.... just seems kinda crappy for you to do you part, and then the guy gets killed in the escort... you did your part for nothig... anybody have any insight on this at all? I am gonna need a tank for a partner.. otherwise I will be doing the luck mission......lol

I've not done it personally (will be doing it in phase 3 though this time round) but all the acocunts I have read of this quest say that it is by far the hardest of all the Village quests.
That's a good thing imo ![]()

Same as other quests I believe, there is nothing to stop you retaking the mission if you fail except the phase shift.

I completed the quest while in a large group. Just make sure you and your group know what you are doing. Here are the basics:
This begins after you acquire the information necessary to lower the shields. Base waypoints can be found in the stickies.
You will assign one person, usually a tank, to lower the shields and assign one person to capture the Commander. Once the shields are lowered, that same person will draw as many Siths as possible away from the base. In a best case scenario, he will be able to draw nearly all the Sith. Eventually, he should let himself be killed. This will spawn the Commander inside the base. The second person will then burst run inside the base and capture the Commander, while others eliminate any threat. Be careful as the Sith will be returing to the base after they kill the person who lowered the shields. So speed is essential.
Once the Commander is secured, you will have to walk (yes, walk) him back to the Village. In most cases, it will be a 6000 meter walk, basically the distance from the Science Outpost to the Village, except it will be on foot. During your trip, you will be attacked by waves of 3-5 Siths. It will be your mission to dispatch the Sith while keeping the Commander in a 20-40 meter range. Anything else will result in a failed mission.
Once at the Village, you will complete the quest and receive your rewards. The person who lowered the shields will still receive both rewards even though he may not be present at the Village when the Commander is delivered.
Your rewards include the Sunrider's Destiny crystal and the now USELESS mind buff crystal (the latter if grouped).
Good luck!

It's not as hard as it used to be since the Sith are now lvl 76 and lvl 77. You don't need to sacrifice someone to pull the Sith away from the base. You just need 2-3 people to kill the Sithwhile your person assigned to capture the commander takes care of his job. We did this several times on TC last weekend. However, the commander is extremely slow and doesn't want to climb hills. You need to find a base less than 3km from the Village and plot a course before you start the mission that will avoid all steep hills.

On TC-Prime the nearest base was only 2.2 km away. It took 45 minutes to get him back to the Village using a route that had no hills. We tried once to take him over a couple of steep hills and must have lost 20 minutes on just one of them. The commander died with just under 500 m to go. You only have about an hour to complete the quest once you spawn the commander.

these are static bases that just respawn after such time? -- why are there so many if you only have to destroy one? Where do these codes fit in -- where do you get them and what do you do with them?
