I believe they said that you should play against your jedi status and not grind it.
I have tried and failed at this, since I cannot play my char while running forward and back to the village all the time.
The village should be a place to visit every few days in my opinion, not something you run forward and back to.
To solve this I started grinding (not playing, grinding) at science outpost on dath for the village to be close.
Some professions has low caps, some has alright, but I think its stupid that we have to go forward and back so many times.
My suggestion is this: Raise all experience caps 10x. This will let a doc do a full session (hopefully) before he has to trade in, and fighters can fight with the party for hours (I enjoy that alot) without having to go to the village at all times.
And please: I know some will be against this, but lets keep a civil discussion about this?

I think this would be a Great idea although it will NEVER come into the game most likely. I would like to be able to go to the DWB, kill NS, etc. and then after a few days of doing so return to the village and drop off exp. That way I could actually have "fun" in this "game" while working towards a "goal", not grinding towards it

What you say has merrit. I don't think it will happen though. My advice is to be as detatched from the trek to the village as possible. Point your speeder in the direction of the village and go watch some TV. Come back, get yourself unstuck from the tree, and fly another 1500 m while you are trolling the forums. Come back get yourself unstuck again. Repeat untill you get to the village. Trade your exp, then get murdered by the first player/monster you come accross. Now you are ready to go back to whatever hellish grind you have chosen to undertake to reach Jedi. Good times.

Travel time to and from village is an intended addition to the grind time needed for Jedi.

I fully agree. My crafter/merchant has to travel to the village every second day to convert 80k merchant xp to 20k senses xp. That is a lot of travelling to do for just one branch. And there is no way I can do that AFK or semi-AFK. He is dead in a matter of seconds if he runs into a couple of red dots.

But even if you accept that annoying time sink it is not reasonable that some professions need to travel up to 10 times more back and forth to the village than other professions.

Having t o travel to village is just a time sink. It does not keep up our interest devs, actually might want us to quit since that time to travel is a waste of the most precious asset TIME

They said that we should not grind to jedi, but rather play towards it.
We already have a 3 week timesink for each phaze, why should there be another one?
