Thread: So becoming FS is now impossible for crafters/entertainers/etc.?

What they mean when they say that is anyone can grind out a couple of combat professions, then spend a few days collecting badges. As far as they're concerned the crafters/entertainers aren't Jedi because they don't want to be. If they did want to be Jedi they wouldn't be crafters/entertainers. It's like a bad SOE Zen riddle.
As it stands now the clvl 77 Sith invading the village is a moot point for crafters/entertainers who wish to be FS/Jedi, as a pure crafter/entertainer could never obtain the content badges needed for glowy. See above for solution.
A little off topic but what I dislike the most is the fact that SOE came out with this game that had enormous role playing potential, and more content potential than any MMORPG to date and they turned it into the most linear MMORPG ever produced.
Experience the greatest saga ever told .. as long as you do it SOE's way.

then they can remove the crafters and sense trees.

befor cu when you are in a group with some fighters where is the prob ??
With the game now being level based instead of skill based I really don't think you can get a pure crafter/entertainer glowy. NPCs have area attacks now. You could bring the entire PA with you, it's only gonna take one AE attack to take you down. If you get targeted first you'll be dead before you can type "help".
I agree that the crafting trees should be removed from Jedi. How many Jedi crafters do you see? Check out the crafter boards and see what they say about Jedi crafting. General consensus .. it's a complete waste given the amount of time it takes to get there and the results once you're there.

I think the point to make here is that becoming FS is NOT becoming Jedi. Some players just wish to supplement there characters with the FS bonuses they can gain from doing the village quests. There are quests based solely on crafting but the original poster is correct . .the chance of a non-combatant crafter of becoming FS (defeating the Sith ambush and camp) is next to nil. This is something that should be looked at.
As faras the Sith during Phase 4 or any other (which usually appear due to a combat quest) I think the level 70ish Sith are ok (though I personally think they should be in the 60s myself). It demonstrates a need for combat skills above 1 elite combat profession.
The arguement of it should be hard to become jedi is moot here . . . we're not talking about becoming Jedi . . we are talking about becoming Force Sensative . . . 2 very different things. If you want the "to become jedi" harder, then the padawan trials (aka what you do as an initiate) should be made harder but not the path to FS.
The game is supposed to be about having fun.
Why exclude anyone? If they were excluding "you" it would likely be a very different post your making.
This is a game, coded by professional coders. Why can it not be adaptive enough to allow for the person who triggered the event? Shouldn't it be possible that if your in a group the spawn scales up? If your a solo Crafter it scales down? If they can not actually code for fun then we have a different problem over all. If they simply chose not to code for the greater enjoyment of the player base that is a different problem still.
My personal thought is that there are too many hands in each piece of pie and that perhaps the right questions are not being asked as the process moves along. If it is slower but done properly we might eventually end up with a game where rework after rework isn't required.
We all make a big deal about how brave SOE was to do the Combat Upgrade. That they were the only ones who have ever done it. This doesn't make it right, smart and certainly not something to be thrilled about. They released a system the player base told them had serious issues and then long after it was promised they release an incomplete system that excludes some, breaks others ext. Maybe it hasn't been done before because it has never been allowed to become so bad or been driven to such a state before in other games?
I'm waiting for the old man now, just have my level 80 alt sitting by patiently waiting for sith to kill after my alt gets in one hit each

No they can't. A mixed crafter/combatant can take advantage of it.
try to become cl 80 with a mixed crafter/combat prof. i think when you have one combat elite prof you are cl 54 and you have to fight against 2 or 3 cl 77 sith shadows when you are glowy. have fun.

You can still easily become FS even with a CL1 character. I took my CL1 alt from nothing related to FS to glowy in just 3 nights this week. Just group with a level 80 character and have themdo all thecombat related content and your set. The content badges are even quicker than they were pre-CU, the warren is now a breeze. I just "followed" my main char through the warren, since grey-con mobs don't auto aggro you anymore hardly anything attacks you, even in the warren.
