Great! thx man
now for changing back to 3:1
Yeah....no kidding...the combat xp change is uncalled for. It doubles everyone's grind for FS. If the dev's are that concerned with people exploiting grenades...then nerf grenade xp/damage. Don't punish the rest of us.
So now instead of me getting almost 200k FS a trade it....now I barely get 100k FS.....Since combat xp is so tough to get in the first place....and there is a smaller limit it dramatically adds to grind time. It takes a heck of a long time to max out xp..and then it gets nerfd. If I spend the extra time maxing out xp I should get rewarded for it...at least make it1:10...or 1:5....but to go from 1:3 to 1:30 is just insane.
I'm a master tka, pikeman, brawler....I don't see it fair that a few exploiters of grenades have doubled my grind time.

I'd like to start out by saying thanks to SOE for the recent increase of communications from them. This is a welcome change from what I have seen over the past year and a half that I've been playing SWG. I hope it gets better, but this is a nice start. WTG!
As others have stated, the nerf to combat conversion XP in the village is hurting...a lot!
It seems the very simple fix should be (and this is how it should have been done to begin with) is to make grenades give heavy weapons XP instead of combat XP. This way you are not punishing players who are not exploiting the system and are 'playing by the rules'. Please consider fixing this the proper way! We need our 3:1 back for combat xp.
I have to agree, I am now only able to get to play for roughly an hour a night, if that, and a few hours on the weekend. I'm 1 full branch and one box away from jedi, right now as it stands if I cap rifle only I get 44666 combat xp where as prior to the change I was getting 86666 force combat xp. I don't throw nades, now I do every little bit helps, but this is prolonging my time before I get jedi, this is game breaking to me.
I've heard all of the "blah blah too many jedi, too quick through the quests" I didn't get to use double xp for grinding, I'm glad everyone has a Jedi, if that is what you want to play be happy, why should I have to suffer because so many people have a jedi already?
People talk about "continuity", we don't have any here. Do you know how many times necrosis has been killed? or How many JSF vader has in his stock room? How about the drunk in the cantina who gives you his armor, he has enough for his own army. The guy lost on kashyyyk, no matter how many people find him, that girl is crying he is still lost.
I have 6 boxes left to grind...That will take at least 20 max outs in the new system...at3 hours a max out...that's 60 hours. In the new system it would take someone 240 hours to grind fs...if they had a full group...and maxed out 1 and 2 handed pikeman and tka. Please don't tell me you think that2 months of non stop grinding i2 hours a day...7 days a week is to short to get fs....because that what it would be in the old system. Don't forget the added time of the village system...every 3 weeks a new unlock...yer looking at 5 months from noob to padawan.

Tys system was designed in that once you unlocked...it would take you 3 weeks to grind out that xp...which is fair....now that time is doubled...which is unfair.

I just did the calculations, if I were to make a village run at each cap it would take me approx 40 runs to get all the xp for my last 5 boxes.
Usuing the above as a guide, I'm only on a break at work not too much time here
, and taking into account that I get roughly an hour a night and about 6-8 on the weekends, it would take me about 55 weeks taking into account 13hours of playtime a week. That is over 1 year, that doen't count guild activites or helping people with what they need.
Can be more or less depending on how much time I have to work. It may come down to the next few months were I can't play for a night or two. Hopefully next year I'll get a new contract and have more time to play, but I would like my hour orso to mean something.

Later a CSR unlocked my Force Speed (which I dont need actually since i am a finished template Jedi). But I have never received my Aurilia Sculpture Section (1/4) reward which was the reason of doing the quest.
Clarification: today's hotfix only applies to the current Phase 4 (as well as preventing problems in future Phase 4's). Sorry!
So what does that mean for those of us that completed this several phases ago? I understand not retroactively rewarding people with the melee item that was a new addition, but what about those of us that were supposed to get a CURRENT reward and did not?
When I got boned out my reward several phases ago, I immediately submitted a ticket and was told "it's a known issue - keep checking the web site for news." After several publishes came and went with no word, I submitted another ticket. I was told by the CSR that "The statue reward is no longer being given and was meant as a special reward for the first batch of people through the village." Which, I assumed was BS and it was confirmed when I saw this Hotfix news. So are we going to be getting a non-hotfix fix in the next publish?

Hi all,
Just wanted to take a moment to address the issues many have been having with getting the rewards for (and in some cases, accepting) the Ranged Speed and Melee Defense quests given by Captain Sarguillo.
First let me apologize to folks who have run into problems with Phase 4. We worked hard to address such issues last time Phase 4 came around and are just as frustrated as you are that there continue to be problems this time around despite our best efforts. Note that our past fixes did work, but it turns out there are additional cases that we did not account for.
Couple of notes:
1) CSRs are correct in saying it's a "known issue", and they can indeed correct the problem manually at this point. Note however that there is natural delay as we start getting reports of the problem, figure out how CSRs should be correcting it, and authorize them to do that, etc.
2)Last night we published anautomaticfix for folks already affected (as well as further guards against future problems).
For anyone who has not already been helped by a CSR, the fix will be applied when you next log in.
If you have logged in today and your problem still persists, please contact CS.
Thanks for your patience!
Does anyone else see a pattern developing? Group XP rates get nerfed, players complain LOUDLY, group xp reverted, apology from SOE. FS grinders not getting quest rewards, fs grinders complain, SOE responds. Not only has Jo-Don posted a thread, he has also replied to questions in the thread. He has responded to at least one other bug/problem post on another topic. I think things are going to be quite interesting the next few months in SWG.
/back-on-topic
/apology for derailing

Yep... I spot a "how to keep customers from cancelling" pattern which is in their very own interest and it's about damned time to be honest.
Amen. Things improved a lot when Canyndryll came on board... and then nosedived back to even lower than the typical crappy level after he left. It's nice to see some recognition that they know who pays the bills.
