Thread: Old man question

Ok, I was visited by the Old man within 20 min of being logged on yesterday. He gave me my crystal, and went away. I made a trip out to theed, and logged out for about 30 min, came back, headed to cnet for buffs. About 2 hours later, I was standing by the shuttle in player city, where the old man originally came to me, when i got a system message ' the mysterious old man runs away'..but I didnt actually see him again, just got that message. I opened my inventory to make sure I still had my crystal, and I did. When I opened the crystal the finished quest titled 'Talk to old man' was gone (and yes the box marked 'include completed quests' was checked). I tried relogging, but nothing..could that message just have been major lag? Oram I bugged? Anybody know?

Yesterday was LAG CITY on the servers. I kept getting worse and worse until the Devs finally shut the servers down at 2 AM EST. Check again this morning and see if it's fixed, otherwise I'd submit a ticket and find out if you need to have the quest listed as completed in the journal before the sith will show.

You now have to wait for sith wanabe warriors to attack you, then you will know where to go from there.

I have the same problem, i'm not sure if this a bug or if it is normal but I havn't been attacked by the siths yet and i've been going round to player citys like people are saying and still nothing.

I beleive that the Quests are all bugged and will be fora long while......Nice to know with the nice long weekend coming up too!

Sorry forgot to say that I was in Theed, relogged and read on the forums that people were getting visited by the old man so I went to the smugglers outpost on Endor to wait, sat just outside the outpost alt-tabbed out to browse the internet for a while. After about 10 mins I had to old men standing next to me, one would speak to me the other would'nt so I spoke to the one that would speak to me and got the crystal etc, and the old guy that would'nt speak to me followed me everywhere so I relogged and got the same message u got saying "the old man runs away" or whatever. It might be worth destroying the crystal and waiting for the old man but I guess that's a bit risky.

Well, I definatly wont destroy the crystal, my thinking is as long as I have it, the sith will come for it. I'm at work right now, so I wont be able to check and see if the completed mission is listed again until later. I heard that everything was real laggy yesterday, so maybe the message I got was just left from when he first visited me..im hoping that anyways. I dont mind the waiting for the sith followers, i just hope im not bugged and they will come-sometime. The lag problem might be why you had 2 show up..and only one would talk, and the other followed you. /shrug We shall see I suppose. Thanks you very much for the responses, at least Iknow I'm not alone.

Go ahead and destroy your crystal. It won't do anything. The sith will still come after you and you will eventually still get into the village where you can talk to the Village Elder and get a new crystal.
If you do destroy your crystal, you can still look at your quest journal by using the command /ui action questJournal.

I have the glow.
I'm supposed to go out in the wilds and just sit around now? The offical thinger says to be in quiet contemplation in the wilderness. The player tips say to run outside of a player city 1km for a "few moments" then log out etc. etc.
Does it matter which planet?

It doesn't seem to matter what planet you're on.
There are reports of the old man visiting people on just about every planet throughout this board. Also, I don't think you need to sit out in the wilderness... I received my visit in our player city on Naboo. Heck, he followed me right into our cantina.
