so i finally get my first old man visit right, but the thing is that my fellow guild mates wanted to make sure they were there when it happend so it could be captured; so I decided to not talk to the guy and he eventually just left without saying anything. my question to you is how long will it be before he will return to me agian?

The Old Man finally came, but he rushed off before I could talk to him. 
Will he visit again? I hope so or that really sucks.

I've seen a lot of advice saying shuttle between cities, etc etc. I was just wondering if I leave galaxies running while I'm watching movies and my guy is just standing still out in a field, will i be eligible for a visit? or do you have to be actively hunting or something? Thanks for the help,

yeah u can leave him out in the middle of no where waiting for him...but if he comes to talk to u and u dont respawned...u miss his visit and have to wait for him again...i shuttled between 2 cites...on the 3rd shuttle there he was

Ok I traveled back and forth all day between a couple of cities. No old man showed up. It was after relogging and traveling one time to my home town that he came running up to me in my city hall.

Got my Old Man visit a couple of minutes after logging in one day, I was sitting in the Imp Outpost on Talus sorting the junk out of my pack and slicing some odd bits I'd accumulated.

LOL seriouslly THE OLD MAN DOES NOT COME ANY FASTER BY SHUTTLING. It is all a myth. Just play the game as you play. He will come to you while you are hunting, sitting in your house, sitting in the middle of nowhere. When your time is up he will come. People shuttle 894729348743 times and no old man. Someone shuttles once and he comes. People just sit and wait and he comes. There is NOTHING you can do to make your account get flagged faster. So don't waste your time shuttling back and forth.

Yup. I logged in for 4 hours a day over the course of two days straight, playing normally and did not receive a visit until my 3rd day. I shuttled back and fourth, planet to planet.. nothing effected his visit but time.

He came and visited me this morning, I guess it was about 3 days after I went force sensitive. Now I'm just waiting on the stupid Sith Shadows, which sucks because I was hoping to sneak in at the end of this phase and not have to wait an extra 3 weeks. Oh well, c'est la vie. Thanks much for the advice.

I started dancing in cantan, went to work... came back, ran out of eislry and was followed by the old man after I was away from the city...
With no dancing skills just use a /stand macro, like this on:
Call the macro: stand
choose an icon: 
then tyoe this in the macro:
/stand;
/pause 30;
/macro stand;
this will keep you online while away from the game (Maybe teachinf what you already know, but it may halp someone)

just remember that you have to be away from a major city ( player cities are ok) and be sure to relog after you are eligible for a visit, evrything else is pretty much up to chance...I had a 2 day wait myself
