I like the idea, but I'm a bit worried about how it would affect the economy. The truly bad part of the hologrind was how it destroyed the economy with all the thousands and thousands of crafted objects appearing for low low prices. But I'd gladly up the difficulty for becoming glowie...
Maybe it would be a good idea to make it so that you need, say, 25 badges out of which only 10 may be POIs and at least 3 must be themeparks? *shrugs*
I dont see how this would slow down "n00bs" from becoming glowie more than say a week. I've seen Slite Professions mastered in about 6 hours so now you added 30 hours of game time until the 'n00b' is glowie. Dont kid yourself a new player that joins whose goal is to simply get right to Jedi will do it? Theyll pick 5 combat proffessions and grind right through them killing bols or pickets. No real learning will take place other than making sure to hit each mob at least once before rest of group kills it. No learning took place during the hologrind other than getting it doen as fast as possible. Do you think a Master WS who did their grind on steel poles then dropped once they hit master learned anything more than how to click resources?
In th ened does it really matter to you how fast a "n00b" gets his Jedi. Ive been playin gsince sept of 03 and Im just now unlocking my Jedi does my gameplay change in anyway because someone who started 6 months ago is fully templated? Now I do agree that if you only play the game for Jedi you probably are missing allot of the game but hey its your money not mine.
Oh and according to your ruleI wouldnt be able to unlockbecause I've only Mastered Doc, Fencer, TKM and Swordsman.
Make them grind one profession from each basic profession. One marksmen, brawler, entertainer, scout, and artisan. That way, they will get the feel and learn what its like for each 'side' of the game. Some will still just power level through it and learn nothing.

makes jedi harder cause its easy now to get to and also in some cases lets people know more bout the game and become less noobs
